At orthopedic department 3, we specialize in prosthetic procedures and complications in the operated area. Our patients need surgery on the hip or knee joint due to arthritis, as well as patients who have experienced some form of complication within our specialty. This can include, for example, infections, periprosthetic fractures, or dislocations. The work is periodically intense and the pace can be high. At the same time, we work in a structured manner in teams with clear priorities. Our nursing team has low sick leave and strong cohesion - most have worked with us for a long time and we are very proud of our expertise and collegial support. We offer: Structured and individually tailored introduction with gradually increased patient responsibility and regular follow-up. Length and content are adapted to your experience (typically about 4-8 weeks). Introduction follows the department's basic schedule with day, evening, and weekend shifts to give a comprehensive picture of the operations. After that, the schedule changes to straight weeks according to agreement. A dedicated mentor who will support you during the first 6 months. We are currently developing a clear competency model within orthopedic nursing care. The model will clarify clinical progression, specialization areas, and opportunities for mentoring and development assignments. We offer the possibility of an initial agreement to work straight weeks (Monday-Friday) for 12 months, with possible extension based on operational needs and in dialogue with you. Job Duties As a nurse at orthopedic department 3, you can look forward to interesting, stimulating, and continuously developing work with both elective (planned) care and some more acute care for our complication patients. You are a work leader and care coordinator, working in close collaboration with various professions such as nurses, nurse assistants, physiotherapists, rehabilitation assistants, occupational therapists, dietitians, and physicians. With us, you will work with pre- and postoperative care, medication management, wound and infection control, mobilization and rehabilitation, acute care management, and team work/coordination as well as quality and improvement initiatives. Supervision of students and interns is also part of the work. We work in teams On weekdays, we have a coordinator function that supports work with patient placement and prioritization and assists with non-profession-specific tasks. Some of our nurse assistants also have expanded responsibilities, including inserting peripheral intravenous catheters, which creates good conditions for efficient and structured work regarding our preoperative preparations. This gives you as a nurse the opportunity to focus on your own work with support and resources close at hand when needed. Qualifications We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse and have an interest in orthopedic care. You enjoy teamwork and want to develop and contribute to a stable and long-term operation. Experience from operating and/or acute care is meritorious but not required - we place great emphasis on personal qualities.
