The Role of Nurse in Ambulance Services As a nurse, you work together with a nurse with basic or specialist training or an ambulance care provider. Together, you assess and treat patients in their homes, at accident sites, and during transport to medical facilities. You also perform patient transfers between different medical facilities, both within and outside the county. As an employee in ambulance services, you have access to advanced equipment such as defibrillators, mechanical chest compression devices, and a variety of medications. In your daily work, you meet different patients, where your work involves providing good and safe care based on the patient's needs. Your work is therefore varied and no two days are the same. We offer permanent employment with a start date by agreement. Your Future Workplace Ambulance services have developed in recent years and now offer increasingly advanced care even before the ambulance reaches the hospital. The ambulance services' vision is to provide the best possible ambulance care and be an attractive workplace with the patient at the center. In Region Jönköping County, there are 24 ambulances, including one light care ambulance, distributed across twelve stations. Ambulance services consist of three ambulance districts, of which the southern district is one of them with stations in Vaggeryd, Gislaved, and Värnamo. We view experience in emergency care positively. It is advantageous if you have any of the following specialist qualifications: • Ambulance Services • Emergency Care • Anesthesia • Intensive Care You are an experienced driver and have at least a Category B driving license. In our operations, it is important that you have good fitness and physical capability, both for your sake and the patient's. Working in ambulance services requires personal maturity and good judgment, and we place great emphasis on personal suitability. As a person, you are secure and stable with a good ability to distinguish between the personal and the professional. It is important that you are confident in making your own decisions in your work. The work also involves close teamwork, so you need to have a good ability to collaborate with others and communicate clearly. Since you meet patients and relatives daily, it is very important that you have an empathetic manner and good interpersonal skills.
