The Nurse Role The work involves being the first point of contact by phone for counseling and qualified assessment of the appropriate level of care and further interventions for children and young people with mental health issues. The assessment is conducted using a structured phone interview and a questionnaire. All incoming referrals to the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Clinic and Child and Adolescent Health Services in Region Jönköping County are handled and assessed within the unit. As a nurse, you will also staff our emergency hotline and, together with primary on-call at the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Clinic, make assessments about whether a patient's condition requires acute intervention or not. You will have the opportunity to develop the unit together with colleagues in a multidisciplinary team. We are committed to leveraging each other's expertise and work with continuous improvements. We offer a permanent full-time position with a start date by agreement. Your primary employment will be within Child and Adolescent Health Services, with the unit manager for One Way In, Children and Youth, Mental Health (EVI) on-site. Working hours are Monday to Friday, daytime 08:00-16:30. Your Future Workplace One Way In, Children and Youth, Mental Health started in January 2020. The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Clinic (BUP) and Child and Adolescent Health Services (BUH) in Region Jönköping County have created a pathway for children and young people with mental health issues. The joint unit receives phone calls from young people and guardians and directs them to the appropriate level of care. The unit's goal is to more quickly help children and young people access the right intervention at the right care level at the right time. We are a total of 16 people working here, including three social workers, ten nurses, two care administrators, and one manager/psychologist. Your Profile We are seeking a licensed nurse. Since the role involves dialogue with colleagues, patients, and family members, good knowledge of the Swedish language is required. We view positively if you have experience supporting and treating children and young people with mental health issues, experience working in psychiatry, and/or experience with phone-based assessments. The work also requires good ability to type quickly and fluently on a computer. To thrive in the role, we see that you are responsible and have a good ability to independently plan and structure your work. You communicate well verbally and have an attentive and empathetic communication style. You tailor your approach based on the patient's perspective and needs, and build trust. You work with a service-oriented mindset and easily provide clear and relevant advice. You understand how different people process information and can make professional assessments regarding the need for continued contact and interventions.
