The Nurse Role
As a nurse, you will meet patients with child and adolescent psychiatric conditions and functional limitations. You will contribute from your professional perspective to the team's work with this patient group. The team includes, in addition to nurses: nursing assistants, doctors, psychologists, social workers, and occupational therapists. Together, you will work based on the child's needs and view the child as part of their broader context.
Your duties include outpatient visits and telephone contacts for medication and well-being follow-ups, psychoeducational interventions, and basic treatment of eating disorders and anxiety.
Your duties also include collaboration with other healthcare providers, services, and authorities that are part of the child's daily life and resources. As a nurse, you also share responsibility for the clinic's telephone advice service and emergency line. Our clinic provides excellent opportunities for you to participate in service development work.
The position is permanent full-time with a start date to be agreed. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00-16:30.
Your Future Workplace
Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is a regional clinic with a shared unit, One Way In (EVI), for telephone advice and triage to child and adolescent health services and child and adolescent psychiatry. The clinic has three outpatient clinics: in Nässjö, Värnamo, and Jönköping. These provide specialized care to children and young people with mental health issues in 13 municipalities. The clinic also has a shared inpatient ward located in Jönköping, which provides 24-hour care, as well as an anorexia unit providing outpatient and day care services.
Today we are approximately 140 employees from different professions who work with children and young people ages 0-17 and their guardians. We work in a multidisciplinary manner in multiprofessional teams.
Your Profile
We are looking for a licensed nurse with several years of professional experience. Further education as a specialist nurse in psychiatric care or in child and adolescent health is a merit. We also welcome experience working with children and young people or in psychiatric care.
We believe you are someone who builds good relationships with patients and colleagues easily. We also believe it is important that you adapt well to changing circumstances—given that we are a clinic with both planned and acute work. We further believe that security, stability, and calm are valuable qualities for meeting people in different life situations.
