Service Center is a unit within Region Västerbotten's Digitalization and Service organization that offers and delivers value-creating services to the region's employees, patients, and citizens. Customer Service is one of four departments within Service Center and is responsible for, among other things, switchboard and alarm services. DUTIES As a switchboard operator with us, you provide important service and enable actions that impact many. In your role as a switchboard operator, you are a central part of Region Västerbotten and ensure that the right people get the right information at the right time. You are the hub—the person who connects internal and external calls, relays critical alarms such as medical alarms, break-in and operational alarms, and handles orders such as sign language interpretation and contact with security companies in preparation for helicopter landings. You also register fault reports in IT systems and contribute to smooth operations 24/7. The switchboard is open 24/7, year-round. Working hours are variable, meaning you will work days, nights, evenings, and weekends according to the established schedule. For the alarm service, approved authorization is required; therefore, a 6-month probationary period will be applied. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with a few years of experience in customer and service-oriented work who enjoys juggling multiple tasks. If you have experience with alarm handling or working at a larger switchboard, that's a plus. The computer is your primary work tool, so you need to be comfortable with technology. We also want you to have good oral and written skills in Swedish and be able to express yourself well in English—if you speak additional languages, that is a merit. To succeed in this role, you need to be service-oriented, attentive, and communicative. You are thorough, take responsibility, and have the ability to stay calm when many things happen at once. In the switchboard, several critical situations can occur simultaneously—your strength is prioritizing quickly and acting with focus.
