Would you like to be part of developing the future of hospital physics in the Värmland region? We are seeking a hospital physicist for Medical Imaging and Diagnostic Physiology at Centralsjukhuset Karlstad.
Your Workplace
The department is facing an exciting development with the establishment of a new PET/CT unit and a future move to new facilities as part of the New CSK project. This creates opportunities to contribute to ongoing development and to be part of implementing new technology and new work methods.
Medical Imaging and Diagnostic Physiology encompasses X-ray, MR, and nuclear medicine, and we currently have three hospital physicists. Our operations are distributed across three acute hospitals and various smaller clinics. You will be stationed at Centralsjukhuset in Karlstad. The region also conducts radiation therapy, where four hospital physicists currently work.
Hospital Physics at Centralsjukhuset Karlstad works closely with operations to create high patient safety, quality, and development. We offer a work environment characterized by collaboration, accessibility, and an open climate where ideas are valued. The New CSK project creates opportunities for modern healthcare, improved work methods, and attractive research and development environments.
With us, you will work in a competent and engaged team where there are good opportunities to influence operations and develop throughout your career.
We are a small, tightly-knit physicist group where you will have significant responsibility but also close collegial support and varied work tasks.
We have experienced colleagues with specialist expertise in nuclear medicine and radiological physics, and we offer the opportunity for specialist training with local supervision.
Your Work Tasks
As a hospital physicist with us, you will primarily work within nuclear medicine, with tasks linked to clinical operations. Depending on the department's needs and your interests, there are good opportunities to develop broad expertise and contribute within other areas of diagnostic radiation physics, including surgical specialties and dentistry.
You will work with isotope therapy, radiation safety, quality controls, optimization, method development, and clinical support in close collaboration with physicians, biomedical analysts, radiological technologists, and other professionals.
Your Knowledge and Competencies
We are seeking someone who is a licensed hospital physicist or will obtain licensure shortly. Experience in nuclear medicine, radiology, or MR is a merit but not a requirement; however, we equally welcome someone who is at the beginning of their career.
You are self-directed and comfortable working both independently and with others. Through your flexibility, you adapt to changing circumstances while communicating clearly and working structurally by planning and prioritizing your tasks.
You thrive in a developing operation and are happy to contribute ideas and improvement work. You express yourself well in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
Merits include previous work in nuclear medicine and/or competence in radiation protection and regulatory matters.
