The Swedish Prison and Probation Service (SiS) is an agency responsible for individualized coercive care for young people with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse throughout the country. At SiS, your working life will be an exciting challenge. SiS Youth Home Bärby, located outside Uppsala, receives non-compulsory school-age boys with psychosocial problems as well as criminality and substance abuse. Job Description Would you like to be part of creating vital change for vulnerable people? Then the job as a treatment pedagogue at SiS is a meaningful challenge. Our vision is to be a place for change, and this permeates our approach, our commitment, and our attitude. We are now looking for treatment personnel for our STB unit. An STB unit is directed at the target group of LVU-placed children and young people with special supervision needs. As treatment personnel in an STB unit, you work in a team together with treatment pedagogues and treatment assistants, supported by a psychologist, group leader, and unit manager. Together, you are responsible for ensuring that the young people living with us receive the security, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified care and motivation work as well as providing support in everyday life. The young people placed in the Klockbacka unit have special supervision needs and are assessed to require placement in a unit with heightened security levels. With the support of your knowledge in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the implementation of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work and contributes to legal certainty, planning, and monitoring of our operations. You contribute to maintaining security according to our procedures and you help ensure that daily life runs smoothly with schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. Mentor work is also one of your responsibilities. The work may also include mentoring new employees and interns. This is a job for you who sees a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in a difficult life situation. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied. Working hours are according to schedule: day, evening, and weekends. As a new employee, you will undergo SiS basic training lasting 10 weeks. In the training, theory is combined with guided introduction, and the training prepares you for the treatment role in SiS operations. Qualifications To succeed in your work, you have a well-founded positive view of people. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and you share SiS values, to be a place for change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation with our young people. As a person, you are secure in yourself and have an easy time creating relationships with young people as well as with others in the staff group. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You work well with others and can handle conflicts in a constructive manner. You also have: At least 2-year post-secondary education from folk high school or vocational school (KY/YH) or other education equivalent to this. The education should be directed toward social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or other relevant subject areas Category B driver's license Good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written Meriting factors: Experience from client-facing positions in government agencies, such as SiS or the Prison and Probation Service Experience working in similar operations such as youth care, HVB homes, LSS housing, psychiatry, etc. At SiS, we value good collegial relationships.
