The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (Statens institutionsstyrelse, SiS) is a government agency responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for youth with complex psychosocial challenges and for adults with substance abuse issues. SiS also manages secure youth care. We do this at youth homes and facilities for adults with substance abuse throughout the country. At SiS, your working life becomes an exciting challenge. SiS LVM-Home Hessleby, located in a beautiful forest environment just outside Mariannelund, accepts men with alcohol, drug, or mixed substance abuse. We have specialized expertise in receiving clients with mental health issues or disruptive behavior. We are mandated to provide care for clients with special care needs. Job Description Do you want to help create vital change for vulnerable people? Then the position of Treatment Assistant at SiS is a meaningful challenge. The goal of your assignment is to motivate our youth and clients toward new and less risky ways of living. As a Treatment Assistant, you are employed to provide care and treatment. You contribute to ensuring that departmental routines function as intended. You play a significant role in providing stability and security for our clients, and you support the foundation of daily life such as cleaning, meal preparation, and more. You help maintain order and security at the institution according to our routines. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building secure relationships and help ensure that our clients receive the safety and security they need to break established patterns of behavior. Together with your team of engaged colleagues such as treatment pedagogues and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. Working hours are scheduled for day, evening, and weekend shifts. Qualifications Your personal suitability is the key to vital change. Therefore, you need a strong ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a well-founded positive view of people, strong empathetic ability, and the ability to build good relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and enjoy sharing your knowledge with colleagues. You must also have: At least 2 years of post-secondary education from a folk high school or vocational university (KY/YH) or other education equivalent to this. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.* Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, for example, in psychiatry, HVB activities, or care and health services.
