Ängelholm makes the impossible possible – that is our vision that forms the foundation for our future development journey. We dare to think and test differently, do the unique and unexpected. We know that we are best together and that it is through boundary-crossing collaboration that we go furthest. We also know that Ängelholm is a place with unique opportunities for continued development. Based on our agile organizational structure, we aim forward and upward. Do you want to be part of our journey? Adult education in Ängelholm includes SFI, basic and upper secondary courses, adapted education, and upper secondary vocational training. We are located on Lärkgatan and Östergatan in central Ängelholm. Adult education is one of three units within the business area Adult Education and Labor Market. The other units are the Labor Market Unit and Economic Support. Together, we work based on the Ängelholm Model, where we create coherent pathways toward studies, work, and self-sufficiency across unit boundaries. We are now seeking a teacher who wants to help develop the future of SFI teaching – teaching where language, working life, and digital competence are interconnected. 1 position(s). DUTIES As an SFI teacher with us, you plan, conduct, document, and follow up on instruction based on the curricula's purpose, central content, and grading criteria, as well as students' individual goals and conditions. This includes, among other things, making progress visible between courses and study pathways and developing instruction where listening, reading, conversation, speaking, and writing are integrated with linguistic phenomena, digital skills, and a critical approach to sources. We are seeking someone who sees SFI as more than language instruction in the classroom. For many of our students, the Swedish language is a crucial key to participation, continued studies, internships, work, and self-sufficiency. Therefore, we want instruction that clearly connects language, everyday life, community life, continued studies, and working life. You create instruction where students develop and use language in relevant and authentic situations. This could include, for example, understanding instructions, reading schedules and work information, communicating with colleagues and managers, managing digital communication, describing their competence, and preparing for internships or work. Digital tools and aids need to be a natural part of instruction. You use them with a clear pedagogical purpose to strengthen students' language learning, motivation, participation, and independence. We also want you to be curious about new digital possibilities and willing to test, evaluate, and develop how interactive learning materials, compensatory aids, and AI-based tools can be used in instruction. At the same time, you actively work with students' digital skills and their ability to search for, understand, and evaluate information. You adapt instruction for students with different study backgrounds, literacy levels, linguistic prerequisites, and goals. You can meet both students who are in basic reading and writing development and students with experience in studies and writing in other languages or alphabets. You systematically follow students' progress and use assessment and feedback as the basis for continued instruction. You also contribute to the team's collective work, participate in creating equitable assessment practices, and develop clear progression through SFI. QUALIFICATIONS We are seeking someone who is a certified teacher with the authority to teach Swedish for immigrants. It is meritorious if you have experience teaching within SFI or other adult education. You have good knowledge of second language development and can translate the curricula's purpose and central content into concrete, varied, and accessible instruction. You can plan instruction so that students develop their communicative abilities while working with language structure, digital skills, and a critical approach to sources. You have a genuine interest in digital pedagogy and keep yourself updated on tools and aids that can support adults' language learning. You don't need to master all tools from the start, but you should be curious, brave, and willing to try new solutions. At the same time, you have a critical and professional approach and can judge when a digital tool strengthens learning and when other methods are more appropriate. You are confident in your teaching role and can create good relationships while being clear about goals, progression, expectations, and responsibilities. You have a coaching approach and help students understand their own learning and see their next steps. Since the new curricula will be implemented in our operations, you need to be comfortable with development work and collegial learning. You share materials, experiences, and ideas and contribute to collective planning, instructional design, and assessment practices. You can work both independently and together with others. For us, transparency, professionalism, and collegial responsibility are important parts of a good work environment. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. Employment type: Permanent employment. Duration: Permanent, start date: 2026-11-30 or by agreement. Ängelholm Municipality should be an organization where employees thrive, develop, and want to stay. We aim to offer full-time positions for increased equality and attractive jobs. We apply individual salary setting based on experience and competence.
