Field Service is responsible for delivering mechanical services related to bearings and bearing installations for Nordic industrial customers. Field Service currently consists of 15 employees located in northern Sweden, Gothenburg, and Bergslagen. About the Role As a service technician, you plan and carry out advanced maintenance work in the field at SKF's customers in industries such as paper, mining, steel, and marine. You supervise and distribute work tasks to mechanics on site, perform control measurements, and are responsible for ensuring that work is carried out with the highest quality. Over time, this also includes conducting training on topics such as bearing and assembly techniques for customers. As part of Field Service, you are SKF's face to the customer, and the role involves substantial customer contact and relationship building. You occasionally participate in presales of service offerings, identify customer needs, and develop business in service and customized solutions. You will work within the northern district and preferably live near Örnsköldsvik, Kiruna, or Gällivare and surrounding areas. The position involves daily travel and also overnight stays. For the right person, there is an opportunity to also take on international assignments as Field Service is a Nordic organization with customers around the world. During your first time at SKF, you will travel extensively with other service engineers, attend training in Gothenburg, and get a solid foundation to take on the role and develop from the start. Your Profile We would like to see that you have solid work experience as a service engineer or technician and are experienced in working with mechanics, maintenance, and service in basic industry. It is highly meritorious if you have worked on maintenance shutdowns and have experience of what a traveling position entails. You are technically skilled with a good understanding of mechanics and blueprint reading. You preferably have a technical secondary education, such as an industrial technology program or equivalent. To succeed in this role, we believe you are independent, take your own initiative, and easily find solutions to problems. You are outgoing and enjoy working in a customer-facing role. You have good communication skills and are structured with good planning ability.
