About the Workplace The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. The Gävle operational area includes the closed prison Gävle, the open prison Gruvberget, and the remand facility Bomhus. 160 employees work in the operation, which receives over 200 inmates. Our operations run 24/7, and the largest occupational group is correctional officers, with support from just over a dozen other positions to ensure we fulfill our mission. At the prisons Gävle and Gruvberget, inmates are engaged in education, other structured activities, treatment programs, self-management, or work in production operations, which mainly consist of carpentry production. To the Bomhus facility and remand center, you can easily travel by public transportation; to Gruvberget prison, you need access to a car. Staff parking is available. Gruvberget is an open prison in the lowest security classification. The facility has capacity for 60 clients and employs around 40 staff members. Job Description As a service technician at Gruvberget prison, you are responsible for property management in accordance with the current delineation list with the property owner and based on the local job description. The role involves close collaboration with both the property owner and external contractors. The work tasks include facility-related property operations, such as troubleshooting, repairs, and ongoing maintenance. You are also responsible for handling and addressing fault reports from the prison's various operations. The position also includes administrative work tasks, such as managing orders and invoices. Qualifications We are looking for someone who is service-oriented and has good collaboration skills. You take responsibility for your work tasks, take your own initiative, and adapt easily to changing circumstances.
