About the Workplace The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now seeking additional staff members. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation services, remand centers, and prisoner transport. The Gävle Operations Area encompasses the closed prison Gävle, the open prison Gruvberget, and the remand center Bomhus. 160 employees work in the operations, which accommodate over 200 inmates. Our operations run 24/7, and the largest occupational group is prison officers, supported by about ten other positions to ensure we fulfill our mission. At the prisons Gävle and Gruvberget, inmates are occupied with education, other structured activities, treatment programs, self-management, or work in operations that mainly consist of carpentry production. To the Bomhus prison and remand center, you can easily travel by public transport; to the Gruvberget prison, you need access to a car. Staff parking is available. Gruvberget is an open prison in the lowest security class. The prison has capacity for 60 clients and has about 40 employees. Job Description As a facilities technician at Gruvberget Prison, you are responsible for facilities maintenance in accordance with the applicable allocation list with the landlord and based on the local job description. The role involves close collaboration with both the landlord and external contractors. Your tasks include operations-related facilities management, such as troubleshooting, repairs, and routine maintenance. You are also responsible for handling and addressing maintenance requests from the prison's various operations. The position also includes administrative tasks, such as order and invoice management. Qualifications We are looking for someone who is service-oriented and has good collaboration skills. You take responsibility for your tasks, take your own initiative, and easily adapt to changing circumstances.
