Description University Services is Umeå University's service organization that simplifies everyday life on campus for employees, students, and visitors. We do this by providing service and support, managing bookable teaching spaces and meeting rooms, facility maintenance, package and goods handling, access cards/UmU cards, mail handling, switchboard and telephone services, and securing exams. We also offer services in printing, lab services, and pantry services. Job Responsibilities As a service worker, you will work with facility maintenance within the services provided across approximately 20 buildings where Umeå University operates. Your work day will be planned based on the customer's specific needs and coordinated with the work team in each building. What are we looking for in you? You are service-oriented and enjoy meeting new people, with the ability to create a good atmosphere in the workplace. As a person, you are helpful, positive, carry out your work tasks with quality, and take pride in your professional role. You can work independently and see what needs to be done. You feel comfortable making personal contact but also know when and how to do so appropriately. You are flexible and can prioritize independently or as part of a team. Qualifications Good proficiency in Swedish (speaking, reading, writing) and English (speaking) Merits Experience with facility maintenance Facility maintenance training Application Your application should be submitted through the university's recruitment system Varbi and must be received by Umeå University by 2026-08-10. Terms The employment is an intermittent position with hourly pay under an 11-month contract period. The intermittent employment arrangement means you may be offered work on individual short-term occasions during the applicable contract period.
