Do you want to strengthen the credibility of responsible forestry in the future? Forests are one of our most important resources – for the climate, biodiversity, business, and the people who live and work in forest landscapes. Would you like to work at the intersection of sustainability, quality, societal issues, and dialogue? Then this role could be for you. Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) is an international membership organization working toward environmentally responsible, socially beneficial, and economically viable use of the world's forests. FSC operates in over 130 countries and is one of the world's most established certification systems for sustainable forestry. We are now seeking a senior specialist who wants to help strengthen the quality, integrity, and credibility of FSC in Sweden. About the role This will be a central position in FSC Sweden's office in Uppsala. You will play an important role in safeguarding the FSC system's quality and legitimacy and ensuring that the organization remains a credible arena where different perspectives meet. In this role, you will work on issues related to quality, system integrity, and continuous improvement. You will analyze deviations and complaints, drive improvement initiatives, and contribute to developing procedures and processes that strengthen operations in the long term. Equally important is the relational perspective. You will build and develop dialogue with FSC's members, certified companies, certification bodies, authorities, environmental organizations, and other key stakeholders. The work involves navigating complex issues where different interests meet, and where success is often created through collaboration, attentiveness, and trustful relationships. You will also collaborate with FSC's international network and be able to contribute to questions concerning integrity, social sustainability, and rights perspectives. Who are we looking for? We are looking for someone who thrives in a role where analysis, quality assurance, and development work are combined with dialogue and relationship building. You have several years of experience in qualified work where you have handled complex issues, ideally in environments where multiple stakeholders need to be balanced against each other. Perhaps you come from a membership organization, public authority, sustainability function, certification operations, or other community-focused work. You have an academic degree in, for example, social sciences, environment, sustainability, rights issues, or natural sciences and are accustomed to writing analyses, reports, and decision documents. You express yourself fluently in both Swedish and English. To succeed in this role, you need to be structured and self-driven, while also being pragmatic, communicative, and attentive, with an easy manner in networking and building trust with people of different perspectives. You enjoy taking responsibility, driving issues forward, and turning analysis into concrete improvement. It is a merit if you have experience with certification systems, quality or audit work, work with indigenous peoples' or rights issues, or international collaborations. Knowledge of FSC is also an advantage. Why you should choose FSC Sweden With us, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference on issues that engage the entire society. You will become part of a committed and knowledgeable office where employees are driven by contributing to a more responsible future. We are a small organization with significant impact. This means you will have a broad role with great responsibility and the opportunity to influence matters of national and international importance. We offer a flexible workplace in central Uppsala with the possibility of hybrid work, flexible hours, wellness allowance, and collective agreement. Interested?
