Our collaboration partner GKN Aerospace is in an expansive phase and is seeking several engineers in solid mechanics who want to be part of the journey toward achieving sustainable aircraft engines. As a solid mechanics engineer, you will contribute to concept development and design of components for engines, demonstrators, and test rigs, as well as ensure their structural integrity.
Examples of work tasks:
• Contribute to various phases of product technology development with your knowledge and experience in solid mechanics.
• Support concept development and design of components for engines, demonstration models, and test rigs using your expertise in finite element analysis, strength, fatigue, and fracture mechanics.
• Define and establish analysis and verification logic to meet the requirements and objectives for component and product technical solutions.
• Validate methods and designs through analysis of simulations and tests.
• Document and present analysis results internally and to external partners.
• Identify technology gaps and new opportunities for technology development.
• Contribute to developing GKN as a "Great Place to Work," in line with core principles: safety, innovation, openness and honesty, care and respect, and accountability.
The assignment requires you to undergo a security interview and be approved according to applicable regulations. The assignment also entails requirements for certain citizenship.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone with a master's degree in mechanical engineering or another relevant engineering field. You have at least 5 years of professional experience as a CAE engineer, experience with simulation tools such as ANSYS Workbench and ANSYS Mechanical (APDL), and are an expert in strength and fatigue. If you have knowledge of manufacturing processes, both conventional manufacturing and additive manufacturing, or programming skills in Python, this is a merit.
We primarily look at your personality and believe you enjoy analyzing complex problems and datasets to draw meaningful conclusions. You have an eye for detail and always strive for accuracy in your work. You have clear and effective communication skills and work equally well independently as in a group.
You are fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
