Senior Project Manager Rail – Production and BEST – Gothenburg Area We are seeking a highly experienced and senior project manager for a long-term assignment within major rail projects in Western Sweden. The assignment runs from January 1, 2027 through December 31, 2028, with the possibility of extension for up to an additional 2 years. The position is full-time and is based in the Gothenburg area with some possibility for remote work. About the Assignment You will work through the entire project chain with both design and production, with clear responsibility for progress, budget, schedule, quality, risk, and coordination. The role requires deep practical experience in rail production and multiple technical areas within rail. This is a specialist role for you who has already led complex rail projects at a large scale and who can take responsibility without extensive oversight. Work Tasks Lead and manage rail projects through the design and production phases. Responsible for progress, schedule, budget, forecasts, quality, and risk. Lead design, construction, and work meetings. Work with track, contact line, BEST, land, drainage, and structures. Prepare and review technical and commercial documentation for contracts. Ensure constructability and identify production risks early. Monitor contractors, contracts, deviations, and technical requirements. Coordinate different technical disciplines and related work. Participate in inspections, checks, handovers, and final documentation. Requirements for the Role You need to demonstrate that you meet all of the following requirements: Minimum 8 years of experience over the past 15 years as a project manager in rail projects in both design and production phases, including at least one relevant assignment as a client representative. Project management experience from track replacement where ballast cleaning and contact line replacement including foundation, BEST, road, land, and structures were included. Project size minimum 500 Mkr. As project manager prepared documentation for track replacement and contact line replacement contract including BEST in a project of at least 500 Mkr. Worked as project manager in production in at least two different projects with passing tracks on double track/main line including BEST. Project size minimum 150 Mkr per project. As project manager executed switchover to computer interlocking 95 in connection with construction of passing track. As project manager responsible for contracting of contractor and implementation of production of steel bridge for rail in a project of at least 100 Mkr. Project management experience from demolition and new construction of contact line system on rail yard with at least 10 tracks and line, including foundation setting, BEST, land, and drainage. Project size minimum 500 Mkr. Post-secondary education as construction engineer with specialization in rail. Class B driver's license and access to a car for business travel. Good Swedish and English in speech and writing. Knowledge of contract law for contractors. Mandatory Training and Certificates You must have, or be able to ensure, current training and certificates within: Work on Road Step 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3 Builder's Responsibility for Work Environment BAS-P/U BASTAB BASÄSKYDD All training requirements and certificates must be verifiable. Meritorious It is particularly meritorious if you have multiple documented examples where you yourself have led work with track and contact line contracts from technical documentation to practical implementation and can describe clear results. Experience in solving complex production problems, coordinating many technical areas, and creating functional cooperation between project organization and contractors is also valuable.
