The role suits you if you want to combine your specialist expertise in composites with a broad understanding of mechanical design and product development. You will work within our Hardware & Design business area where we combine broad engineering expertise with deep specialist knowledge and a user-centered approach to develop physical products and digital experiences from concept all the way to large-scale production. Responsibilities As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with composite structure experience, you have the ability to work independently, drive and take full responsibility for your area of responsibility, while enjoying collaborating and contributing in cross-functional teams. Projects can encompass the entire development process, from concept development and design to finished product, as well as maintenance, further development and updating of existing systems. You will primarily work with development and detailed design of composite-based and other lightweight structures, but also with traditional mechanical design where, for example, sheet metal, steel and welded structures are involved. Development and detailed design of composite structures and lightweight constructions. Design with focus on composite materials, laminates, sandwich structures and fiber orientation. Develop design and drawing documentation with consideration for manufacturing method, tolerances, assembly and industrialization. Design and development of load-bearing structures, frameworks and advanced mechanical systems in Creo. Design of fixtures, attachments, mechanical interfaces and integrated solutions. You are a person who enjoys sharing your knowledge while being able to independently drive your own work forward. In addition to your personal qualities, you need to have the following: Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent. At least 5 years of work experience in mechanical design in Creo. Solid practical experience in composite design and lightweight construction. Experience developing designs with focus on strength, weight optimization, manufacturability and function. Understanding of composite materials and relevant manufacturing methods, such as lamination, sandwich construction and other composite processes. Experience with robust designs in defense, heavy vehicles, special vehicles, aerospace or equivalent industry. Good knowledge of manufacturing methods such as welding, bending, casting and machining. Good knowledge of DFM/DFA, detailed design, tolerance setting and preparation of drawing documentation. Experience working in PDM/PLM systems such as Teamcenter, Windchill or equivalent. Ability to work independently as well as in cross-functional teams. Very good communication skills in Swedish and English. Meritorious In-depth experience with composite materials, for example CFRP/GFRP, sandwich structures and laminate design. Experience with sheet metal, aluminum, steel, casting and welded structures. Experience with FEM calculations and simulation. Experience with GD&T (geometric and positional tolerancing) and FMEA. Experience with requirements management and work with technical specifications. Collaboration with production, testing, procurement and other disciplines. Rapid prototyping and 3D printing.
