Senior IT Security Specialist, Development-Focused
The company is a Swedish IT consulting firm specializing in IT, telecom, and industry, based in Kista, Stockholm. We function as a strategic bridge, focused on quality, long-term partnerships, and precise matching. With deep industry expertise and professional service, we deliver the right consultants quickly across Sweden. We are proud to have been named Di Gasell 2024, confirming our growth and commitment.
About the Role
The company is seeking a senior IT security specialist where security is the main focus, with a clear emphasis on getting things done together with development teams. The role involves receiving security findings (from scanning, reviews, incidents, or external reports), translating them into concrete actions for the development team, and driving that the right measures actually get implemented. The person will normally not write code, but needs to understand developers' reality and be able to speak the same language as the teams.
The profile needs a pragmatic and risk-based approach, not seeing security as black and white, and not just pointing out risks. It requires a holistic perspective, understanding what is most critical to protect ("the crown jewels") and being able to prioritize actions that deliver the best impact based on business and technical reality. Background from penetration testing or offensive security is a plus, especially familiarity with vulnerabilities, root cause analysis, and risk reduction.
What You Will Do
Incident management, including digging into logs and making technical assessments
Make quick decisions and recommendations, for example if something needs to be shut down or restricted
Be a "second opinion" on security matters and when there is uncertainty
Support the teams' development and create space for people to grow in security work
