Senior Infrastructure Technician with Focus on Operations and Storage

Then we have the role for you! Randstad Digital is now seeking two senior Infrastructure Technicians for a hire-to-own assignment with one of our successful customers in IT infrastructure. The arrangement involves initially working as a consultant through Randstad, with the stated ambition that the position will transition to a direct employment with the customer. The role is primarily based in Uppsala (or Stockholm alternatively) with excellent opportunities for hybrid work. Responsibilities As an Infrastructure Technician, you will be a key person in the infrastructure operations team with responsibility for core server and infrastructure services. You will actively contribute to the company's technical roadmap, automation, and capacity planning: Manage day-to-day operations, maintenance routines, lifecycle management, and capacity planning for complex infrastructure environments. Work hands-on with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox). Handle backup, storage (SAN, NAS, iSCSI), and network-related matters. Interpret customer needs, create smart solution proposals, and act as a central part of technical deliveries and technology transitions. Create good structure and order through ongoing patching, documentation, and ITIL-based improvement work (Incident, Problem, Change). Qualifications At least 5 years of experience in infrastructure operations. Deep experience with server operations and virtualization environments. Solid knowledge of storage solutions (SAN, NAS, iSCSI). Good understanding of basic networking (DNS, DHCP, VLAN, VPN) and backup chains. Experience with basic automation via PowerShell, Ansible, or scripting. Familiar with working according to ITIL processes. Fluent knowledge of Swedish and English in both speech and writing. Meritorious Experience from MSP environments (multi-tenant environments with many customers). Knowledge of Nutanix, OpenStack, Linux, Windows Server, Active Directory, or containers/IaC. Experience with monitoring tools such as Zabbix, Grafana, Nagios, or ELK. Experience acting as a technical lead, driving POCs, or leading smaller projects.
