About the Company Verisure is a leading provider of professionally monitored security systems and develops connected products and services for millions of customers. An important part of the business is in-house product development, where hardware and software are developed together to create security solutions with high demands for reliability, performance, and energy efficiency. At Verisure's Research & Development department in Malmö, several different engineering disciplines work together on developing the company's connected security products. Here you'll find expertise in embedded software, electronics, connectivity, and camera technology, with development spanning from image processing and Wi-Fi to real-time systems and low-energy communication. You'll become part of an experienced team of around nine people with specialized expertise in different parts of the product. The team works on several new products and is simultaneously undergoing a hardware platform transition. This means you'll come in early in the development process and have the opportunity to influence technical choices from the start. Here you'll work closely with colleagues who have deep technical expertise in a flat organization, with great scope to contribute your own ideas and influence technical decisions. This is a direct recruitment where Mero assists in the recruitment process, but employment is directly with Verisure. About the Role As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer at Verisure, you'll work on product development of the company's camera and monitoring solutions. You'll work primarily with development in C and have the opportunity to work broadly with the product, from hardware-near development and technical problem-solving to system architecture, design, and technical decisions. An important part of the role is working with software design as new products and hardware platforms are developed. This includes creating solutions where new components and features can be introduced over time and building a structure that can be further developed between different product generations. The work occurs in an environment with RTOS, resource-constrained hardware, and wireless communication. You therefore need to understand how different parts of the system affect each other and reason about technical trade-offs in areas such as performance, memory usage, and power consumption. This role suits you if you like diving deep technically, but at the same time want to work broadly with the product and help influence the technical choices behind it. About You We're looking for you with solid experience in embedded development and a deep understanding of system architecture in embedded products. You're experienced with hardware-near development and have worked through previous projects with technical design and decisions at the system level. We'd like to see that you've helped design systems or software platforms for new products, where scalability and the ability to further develop the solution over time have been important. As a person, you're curious, communicative, and self-driven. You enjoy discussing technology with others and are happy to contribute new perspectives and ideas. At the same time, you're humble about others' expertise and thrive in an environment where different technical specialist areas meet. For this role, we see that you have: Solid experience in embedded development in C Deep knowledge of system architecture for embedded products Good experience with RTOS and real-time systems Experience with MCUs and resource-constrained embedded systems Experience with hardware-near development Experience with wireless communication, such as Wi-Fi or sub-GHz Good communication skills in English It's a plus if you also have experience with Embedded Linux or developing scalable software solutions for embedded products. We particularly appreciate experience from environments where software needs to be further developed and reused when new products or product generations are introduced.
