Senior Embedded Developer Västerås

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Senior Embedded Developer for a technology company in Västerås. This is a direct employment opportunity with the client company. You will become part of an experienced development team and work hands-on with software development for industrial and technically advanced applications. This role is perfect for you if you still want to be close to the code while being comfortable taking on technical responsibility, solving complex problems, and collaborating with both colleagues and customers. An important part of the work involves developing and enhancing solutions for industrial communication, where stability, performance, and quality are central. RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and enhance embedded software in C Develop new functionality in existing communication solutions Work with real-time systems and system-level development Debug and analyze complex technical problems Integrate solutions with customer systems and products Participate in technical discussions with customers and the development team Contribute your experience and knowledge sharing within the team When needed, take responsibility for smaller technical projects or sub-projects WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WITH At least 5 years of relevant embedded development experience Very strong experience programming in C Experience with real-time systems Good understanding of system-level software development Understanding of industrial communication and communication protocols Experience troubleshooting and problem-solving in embedded environments Ability to work independently and take technical responsibility Good Swedish and English proficiency, both spoken and written You are still a hands-on developer and work best when you can combine deep technical expertise with practical development and problem-solving. MERIT FACTORS It is a plus if you also have experience with: EtherCAT Profinet Other industrial communication protocols Embedded Linux C++ RTOS Communication stack development Industrial automation Technical project management Customer-oriented development and integration Experience with EtherCAT or Profinet is not a requirement. What matters is that you have a strong foundation in embedded development, real-time systems, and industrial communication.
