The Accounting Department is responsible for the Swedish Migration Agency's financial reporting and accounting administrative processes. We ensure that the agency's accounting is correct, reliable, and complies with applicable regulations. The department also provides support and guidance to the organization on accounting-related matters and is responsible for managing and developing the agency's accounting and e-commerce systems. We continuously work to develop routines, processes, and working methods to create efficient and quality-assured accounting flows. The department consists of approximately 20 employees with broad expertise in accounting, accounting administration, and system management.
Job Responsibilities
As a senior accountant in the Accounting Department, you work together with your colleagues on the Swedish Migration Agency's accounting from an agency-wide perspective.
In the role, you will, among other things:
work with bookkeeping, reconciliations, and quality assurance of the accounting
participate in monthly and annual closings and work with the financial parts of the annual report
ensure that accounting and accounting administrative routines comply with laws, regulations, and internal rules
conduct qualified analyses, investigations, and accounting follow-ups
contribute to the development and improvement of accounting processes, routines, and system support
provide advice and support to the organization on accounting matters
produce guidelines, instructions, and training materials
participate in work with internal controls and reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
Depending on your expertise and experience, the work may also include system-related issues within the accounting area.

You who are applying have:
academic education in accounting, preferably with a focus on accounting, or other education combined with current and relevant experience.
several years of current experience in qualified accounting work
experience working with financial statements and annual reports
good knowledge of accounting and accounting administration
good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in both Swedish and English
good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
It is advantageous if you have:
experience in system administration in the accounting system, Unit4 ERP
experience in system administration in Visma Proceedo or another e-commerce system
experience in accounting and accounting administration in state or other public activities
experience in accounting work with a system or process development focus.
