We're seeking a senior designer for an automotive company in Göteborg who wants to develop exterior components and lighting solutions for both advanced and production-ready vehicle projects. In this role, lighting will be a central part of the vehicle's identity, technical expression, and brand character, and you'll help shape both the day and night appearance of future vehicles.
Your Assignment
Develop and create design proposals for exterior components and lighting for advanced and production-ready projects
Develop front and rear light concepts, including DRL signatures, position lights, and illuminated exterior details
Design components such as light units, tech bands, grilles, trim strips, and integrated exterior details
Explore proportion, graphics, depth, transparency, materials, and perceived quality
Translate early 2D concepts into technically refined 3D solutions
Refine design through successive reviews and development stages
Stay current with lighting technology such as LED, micro LED, matrix lights, pixel lights, and projected light solutions
Work closely with lighting engineers, suppliers, and digital modeling teams
Present design proposals to management and project stakeholders
Participate in international projects and design reviews, with travel as needed
Must Have
At least 5 years of experience in exterior design within the automotive industry
Documented experience with exterior components and/or automotive lighting design
Background from automotive OEM, advanced design studio, or established automotive design consultant
Experience driving design from early concept to production-ready solution
Strong portfolio demonstrating high level of competency in component and lighting design
Good understanding of production feasibility and collaboration with engineers
Experience with 3D design development in Alias, Blender, or CAS
Experience with lighting technology in the automotive industry
Meritorious
Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, but not required
Knowledge of Blender and Autodesk Alias
Experience collaborating with Chinese automotive manufacturers
Familiarity with VRED or KeyShot
📍 Scope: 40 hours per week
📍 Location: Göteborg, on-site work
📍 Assignment Period: November 2, 2026 to April 30, 2027
