About the Department/Unit In Operations Support, we continuously develop working methods, processes, and digital tools to create the best possible conditions for the university's education and research. The Team You will join a small team where you have great opportunity to take responsibility, contribute ideas, and develop both your own and the organization's expertise. The team includes other data engineers, project management, requirements analysts, and architects. You will also work closely with the business in planning and delivery efforts. Key Responsibilities As a senior data engineer with us, you will be involved early on and shape KTH's central analytics and data platform in Microsoft Fabric. You will work in an environment where research, education, and societal benefit are at the core, and you will have significant responsibility and freedom to influence and contribute to future development. In this role, you will, among other things: - Shape, further develop, and future-proof KTH's data platform in Microsoft Fabric where data security and access control are a natural part of the design. - Design and establish stable integrations to continuously ingest data from various sources. - Structure our Lakehouse according to the Medallion architecture and develop transformations in PySpark with a clear focus on data quality and user-friendliness. - Create analysis-ready data products, semantic models, and Power BI reports that create value for the business. - Work systematically with code version control and establish agile delivery pipelines (CI/CD) in Azure DevOps. Qualifications Requirements - Relevant academic education or otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge that the employer deems equivalent. - Current work experience in data modeling and designing and building scalable data warehouses and ETL/ELT processes with Python/PySpark and SQL. - Practical understanding of and experience with the platform's core components such as Data Pipelines, Notebooks, Lakehouse/Warehouse, and semantic models. - Work experience using and integrating with APIs and managing them. - Experience capturing and translating business requirements into technical solutions and demonstrated ability and experience visualizing data in interactive dashboards (such as Power BI). - Excellent knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written. Meritorious Qualifications - Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate (DP-700) and/or Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate (DP-600). - Experience working in Microsoft Fabric and Azure DevOps for version control and CI/CD. - Experience driving architecture and platform development. - Knowledge of data security and compliance.
