Senior Controller – Financial Systems, BI and Business Management – Stockholm We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Controller for an extended consulting assignment within a major public sector organization in the Stockholm area. The assignment runs for approximately 12 months with the possibility of extension up to approximately 24 months in total, starting no later than November 1, 2026. About the Assignment The role combines qualified controller work with business development and the development of financial processes and financial systems. You will work both operatively with financial management and have a central role in a larger change initiative related to future financial processes, reporting and decision support. You need to be equally comfortable with budget, forecasting and financial analysis as with requirements specification, system development, testing, process work and dialogue with business units, managers and system vendors. This is an assignment for a senior specialist who can independently drive their area and simultaneously function as a qualified advisor to the organization. Responsibilities You will, among other things: support managers and business units in qualified financial matters compile and analyze monthly, interim and annual financial statements work with budget, forecasting and financial monitoring prepare financial analyses, reports, presentations and decision support materials lead and drive sub-projects within budget, forecasting, monitoring and reporting gather, analyze and formulate business and system requirements develop and document future financial processes, working methods and procedures plan, coordinate and conduct testing of system functionality coordinate dialogue between business units, project organization and system vendors develop reporting structures, key metrics and decision support tools evaluate solutions within BI, analytics and visualization lead workshops and stakeholder engagement activities plan and conduct training and information initiatives actively contribute to change management and business development Requirements for the Role To be considered, you must meet all of the following: relevant academic degree at least eight years of documented experience working as a controller experience with qualified work with managers and senior executives documented experience with implementation, development and/or migration of financial systems documented experience with requirements gathering and specification of financial processes and financial systems documented experience with testing or test management related to system implementations experience developing models and working methods for budget, forecasting, financial monitoring, reporting and decision support experience with BI, analytics or reporting tools experience with change management related to financial processes or system implementations experience leading workshops and collaborating with business units, managers, project organization and system vendors strong Swedish language skills, both spoken and written ability to work full-time in the Stockholm area according to the specified hybrid arrangement ability to travel within Sweden as needed You must also be able to provide two relevant reference assignments where you held a comparable role. Each assignment should have lasted at least six months and be current from the last three years. At least one of the assignments should be completed at a larger organization with at least 1,000 employees. Meriting Factors The following experience is particularly valued: at least one year of practical experience with Raindance at least one year of practical experience with Unit4/Agresso at least one year of experience from state sector activities at least one year of experience with SAS Visual Analytics or another qualified BI/reporting system Candidates who combine several or all of these experiences will be particularly interesting. Who We Are Looking For You are analytical, self-driven and comfortable in a senior advisory role. You can quickly grasp complex financial and business issues and translate them into functioning processes, system requirements and decision support materials. The role requires that you can communicate with both financial specialists and system experts as well as managers and business representatives. You therefore need to be pedagogical, attentive and clear while having the ability to independently drive issues forward. Accuracy and quality awareness are particularly important. You are expected to be able to structure complex information, manage several parallel activities and deliver high quality even within an extensive change initiative. Work Location and Arrangement The assignment is carried out full-time in the Stockholm area. The initial period involves on-site work. After the introductory period, hybrid work is possible up to two days per week. Normal availability is on working days (excluding weekends) approximately 08:00–16:30. Travel within Sweden may occur. We are primarily seeking someone who can carry out the assignment as a consultant via your own company or equivalent billing solution.
