Senior Controller

We are currently seeking a qualified controller to drive a comprehensive development project in the finance area for one of our clients, centrally located in Stockholm city. This role is perfect for you if you have solid experience in financial management and want to contribute to a strategic and business-critical implementation of a new finance system. About the Assignment Our client is facing a finance system transition and needs reinforcement with a senior controller who will also lead sub-projects in implementing a new finance system. The assignment encompasses financial management, process development, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and business development. Beyond traditional controller work, the role includes responsibility for requirements specification, testing, training, and development of decision support systems. You will have a central role in the organization's development journey, working both operationally and strategically. A significant portion of the assignment involves developing future processes, work methods, and system support within budgeting, forecasting, monitoring, and reporting. You will be an important link between the business, project organization, and system provider, ensuring effective processes and sustainable long-term solutions for financial management and management information. Examples of Work Tasks Provide support to managers in the operational business on financial matters. Compilation and analysis of monthly, semi-annual, and annual financial statements. Development of forecasts. Prepare financial reports and presentations for business management. Responsible for specific investigations and decision-making materials. Actively contribute to the development and improvement of financial processes. Lead and drive sub-projects within budgeting, forecasting, monitoring, and reporting. Responsible for requirements gathering, analysis, and specification related to financial processes and finance systems. Develop and document future processes, work methods, and procedures. Plan, coordinate, and conduct testing of system functionality. Coordinate dialogue between business, project organization, and system provider. Develop reporting structures, key metrics, and decision support systems. Evaluate and analyze solutions for reporting, analysis, and visualization of financial information. Plan and conduct training and information initiatives. Personal Qualities We are looking for someone who is professional, communicative, and responsive to business needs. You have excellent communication and collaboration skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and deep process understanding within the finance area. You also have good experience with digital work methods and express yourself fluently in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements Relevant academic degree in economics or equivalent. At least eight (8) years of experience as a controller. Experience working closely with people in senior management positions. Good knowledge of the conditions, prerequisites, and relevant Swedish legislation within the finance area. Ability to quickly understand the organization's goals, requirements, and processes. Good and current knowledge within your specialist area. Ability to independently drive and execute tasks. Good understanding of collaboration between different areas of expertise. Strong organizational skills with experience in planning, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines. Excellent communication skills in Swedish, both verbal and written. Ability to work in the client's IT environment and systems. Willingness to travel within Sweden when needed. You must also have documented experience with: Implementation, development, and/or migration of finance systems. Requirements gathering, analysis, and specification of financial processes and finance systems. Testing work or test management in connection with system implementations. Development of models for budgeting, forecasting, monitoring, reporting, and decision support. BI, analytics, or reporting tools. Change management related to financial processes or system implementations. Leading workshops and collaborating with business, managers, project organization, and system providers. The role requires two (2) relevant reference assignments where you held a corresponding senior controller role. The reference assignments must: Have lasted at least six (6) months. Be ongoing or completed within the last three (3) years. Involve two different clients. Not involve any conflict of interest issues. At least one assignment must have been conducted in an organization with at least 1,000 employees.
