Workplace Description Working in the Police's IT department means being a crucial part of police operations and crime prevention efforts. Whether it's developing new operational apps, forensic technology, or collecting digital evidence, well-functioning IT solutions are essential. The Android Developer position is placed in the Vehicle Systems group, and our mission is to ensure that police officers in the field have the best possible IT support in the new generation of police patrol cars. We have a modern and world-unique IT platform in the new vehicles that becomes a powerful tool for improving protection of personnel and equipment, and enhancing the Police's ability to prevent, investigate, and prosecute crime. In the project, you'll be part of connecting the entire chain – from complex technology to finished end product for our field users. You'll be based centrally on Kungsholmen in Stockholm, with the opportunity to work from home up to two days per week. In this role, you'll be responsible for the full lifecycle – from new development and further development to ongoing maintenance – of several critical products. Your main focus will be building the next generation software platform on Android in the police patrol car. Your responsibilities will include: - Leading the development of a new Android platform for the police patrol car - Designing, developing, and enhancing Android applications in Kotlin for the police patrol car - Working closely with UX, backend, and other mobile developers - Driving architecture and technical decisions - Collaborating closely with operations to understand operational needs - Working with secure communication and authentication Want to know more about what it's like to develop mobile solutions for the Police's operations? Alternatively, equivalent acquired experience that the Police Authority deems equivalent. - Several years of relevant and current Android development experience, preferably from a large organization - Solid expertise in core areas of the Android platform, specifically lifecycle management, navigation structures, and modern architecture components. - Experience working with CI/CD and version control in Git - Experience with Jetpack Compose - Excellent ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing Employment requires Swedish citizenship The following are particularly meriting: - Professional experience participating in the introduction of Android development in an organization and/or having worked at least one year as a tech lead for an Android development team. It is meriting if you also have: - Relevant professional experience with hardware-level development related to Android devices - Basic knowledge or experience with iOS development (Swift or SwiftUI) - Good expertise in developing solution architecture - Certificate and PKI knowledge - Development with strict quality requirements and of performance-critical IT systems - Experience with hardware-level development focused on streaming, voice, audio, or video Personal Qualities We're looking for you who have analytical ability, take responsibility, and have a strong drive combined with creative thinking.
