Psychiatry Halland is responsible for public specialist psychiatry in Region Halland and encompasses child, adolescent, and adult psychiatry in both outpatient and inpatient care. The operation has approximately 900 employees and is present in all municipalities in the region.
We are now seeking a section leader for PIVA (psychiatric intensive care unit) in Halmstad – an operation in development where you will have a central role in creating structure, continuity, and quality in daily operations.
About the Position
As a section leader, you will work closely with the department manager and medical director (MLA) and have a key role in creating stability and good conditions for daily work. The assignment aims to strengthen management, governance, work environment, and patient safety.
The position primarily involves daytime work, Monday–Friday, with the possibility of clinical work when needed.
Your responsibilities include:
Lead and coordinate daily operations on the unit and acute reception
Serve as a link in clinical daily operations between the unit and adjacent care areas
Participate in reports, rounds, and coordinated individual planning (SIP)
Lead parts of development and change work on assignment from the department manager and MLA
Act on behalf of the manager and be responsible for leading and supporting daily work in line with operational goals
Contribute to planning and development of patient safety work
Responsible for onboarding new employees
Participate in briefings in connection with staff training
Ensure that Safewards work continues
Participate in and lead work on deviations and improvement measures
Work clinically when needed and substitute for the department manager during short absences
The section leader position is limited to two years, with permanent employment in your base profession. Follow-up will occur before any possible extension.
About the Workplace
PIVA in Halmstad is a psychiatric intensive care unit with 10 care beds for patients with acute psychiatric conditions, often with short care periods. Adjacent to the unit is the psychiatric acute reception (PAM), where patients are received for acute assessment and triage.
We work closely with ambulance services, police, social services, and other healthcare actors, and also conduct digital triage together with the ambulance service.
Our goal is to offer safe, secure, and person-centered care with good communication.
We have an active development focus and work with, among other things, Safewards, evidence-based methods to strengthen safety, communication, and participation.

Qualifications
We are seeking you who:
Are a licensed nurse or have other relevant education in health and medical care
Have several years of experience working in psychiatric care
Have experience leading or coordinating work and enjoy a leadership role
Have strong ability to collaborate and work in a team
You are confident and stable in your professional role, with a clear solution-oriented approach. You work in a structured manner and communicate clearly and comprehensibly, which creates conditions for good collaboration. You have a strong ability to engage others and create participation, particularly in change work, and actively contribute to driving development forward. With a holistic perspective in your work, you always act in the best interest of the operation and contribute to long-term sustainable solutions.
You have strong knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
