We are seeking two section managers who want to lead in a complex and socially important operation – with a focus on collaboration, results, and development. Together we get Sweden to work. Do you want to be one of us? Unit Assignment The Swedish Public Employment Service Västmanland consists of 170 employees divided into 10 sections and two physical workplaces, Västerås and Köping. We are now seeking two engaged and driven section managers who want to lead the operation. One of the unit's assignments is to support job seekers on their path to employment or studies, often in close collaboration with municipalities, service providers, and other actors. The other assignment is to help employers who need substantial support in their recruitment. Section Manager's Assignment and Responsibility Your assignment as section manager involves operational and personnel responsibility for 15-20 employees. You are responsible for ensuring that the section's results match established goals and expectations. As section manager, you have an important assignment in creating well-functioning work teams and, together with your employees, driving and developing the operation. You enable good performance, high satisfaction, and a good work environment by working in accordance with the Swedish Public Employment Service's leadership criteria. You promote a culture characterized by trust, openness, and security. Your work takes place in strong partnership within and outside your own section and in good collaboration and cooperation with the unit's other section managers, municipalities, service providers, and other collaboration and cooperation partners. To succeed in this assignment, you need to be an action-oriented leader who creates clarity, structure, and direction. You work goal-oriented, take initiative, and drive work forward with a focus on results. At the same time, you are flexible and have the ability to quickly adjust when operational needs change. You see opportunities, make decisions, and translate ideas into concrete action and inspire others to do the same. You are part of the unit manager's management group and will, together with this person and the other section managers, be responsible for the entire unit's results and development. As section manager, you are a role model in living the Swedish Public Employment Service's vision, values, and direction for employee and leadership practices. Our Offer The position is a permanent full-time employment that may be initiated with a six-month probationary period. The work location is Västerås. More about working with us Basic Qualification Requirements Current experience in a leading role (continuous assignment, project, work team) of at least 6 months within the Swedish Public Employment Service's operations. Or: Completed the Swedish Public Employment Service's preparatory management program Or: Current experience in management at a corresponding level with operational and personnel responsibility from another organization of at least 1 year B driver's license and driving experience Additional Merits for the Position Experience leading through change, creating structures, and working with participation Experience in collaboration and cooperation with municipalities, associations, business, and other authorities Experience in work-related rehabilitation Current experience in operational development and operational follow-up Current experience in the exercise of public authority The state's values guide us in our daily work.
