Are you an engaged and driven leader who wants to help develop our work within the economic assistance and housing department? We are seeking a section manager who, with courage, innovative thinking, and a holistic perspective, wants to lead an operation that makes a difference for people every day.
Work Tasks
As a section manager, you have overall responsibility for leading and distributing work within your section, which handles public administration related to homelessness and housing issues. The assignment includes responsibility for budget, personnel, and work environment, as well as the administration that comes with these areas. You lead a team of social workers and work closely with other section managers and the unit manager. Together, you work to develop the operation and ensure high quality in the work, while also serving as a sounding board and support for each other in daily work.
In this role, you are expected to lead and develop the operation to ensure quality and legal security. You are responsible for personnel, work environment, and budget, and you support and develop your employees in their daily work through coaching and guidance. You drive operational development and quality work in accordance with the unit's goals and guidelines, and you develop and strengthen collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders to create the best possible conditions for individuals.
Qualifications
We are seeking someone who has:
A degree in social work or equivalent higher education
At least five years of experience in social work
At least three years of documented experience in independently exercising public administration authority within social services
Experience working with homelessness and housing issues and/or economic assistance
Managerial or leadership experience in the workplace
The ability to communicate without difficulty in Swedish, both orally and in writing
It is meritorious if you have:
Experience working with development, change, improvement, and quality work
Experience collaborating with external stakeholders such as Region Skåne, the Probation Service, and the Prison Service.
As a person, you should have a genuine interest in leadership. You create engagement and participation and have a good ability to see what your employees need to achieve the operation's goals. You organize, plan, and follow up your activities and the work in your operation in a structured way. To succeed in this assignment, you need very good collaboration and cooperation skills as well as a high degree of flexibility. You are comfortable adapting to changed circumstances and see opportunities in change. You understand and can clearly and accessibly communicate information to your employees.
