Ref: 20261857 Duties Welcome to the Children and Family Unit, North East! We are now looking for a section chief. As a section chief in children and family services, you will be responsible for social services operations regarding the exercise of authority over children and youth. The role includes leading and distributing work within the team with responsibility for finances, personnel, and work environment within the section. Systematic work environment management is an important part of the section chief's mandate and aims to create the best possible conditions for the team's employees. You will develop competence, engagement, and work satisfaction in collaboration with managers and employees. We want you to communicate, guide, and encourage employees and to utilize and develop their knowledge and experience. Furthermore, it is part of your role to further develop social work, stay updated on current developments, research, and evidence-based methods, as well as drive quality assurance work. You will be responsible for developing and finding long-term solutions in working with children, young people, and their families based on their needs and participation. The tasks require both independent work and collaboration skills, and with a changing workday, it is important that you are flexible and can calmly handle changing circumstances. You will be part of a management group with fellow section chiefs and a unit manager. There are also various support functions connected to the role, such as HR consultant, legal advisor, planning secretary, economist, and others. As an employee with us, you will be offered, among other things, supervision, wellness benefits, and flexible working hours. We invest in competence development and also offer introductory and mentorship programs for managers. Qualifications We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or another relevant degree for the position. Several years of experience in social work in a leadership position, such as manager, senior social secretary, team leader, or coordinator, is a must. You must be able to express yourself freely in Swedish both verbally and in writing. It is advantageous if you have worked with the target group, have experience in the exercise of authority, and have driven quality assurance work previously. It is also advantageous if you have collaborated with internal and external actors such as Region Skåne, schools, or preschools. It is an advantage if you have completed a leadership development program and/or have knowledge of Signs of Safety, BBIC, and MI. As a person, we are looking for someone who is calm and confident in yourself and your leadership and who has the ability to remain calm even in difficult situations. You find it easy to articulate where we are heading and place great emphasis on ensuring that the path forward is known. You listen in and create conditions for participation and joint creation by delegating tasks and creating opportunities for people in your vicinity to grow. You take responsibility for your mandate and prioritize among work tasks while creating a whole that includes a good balance between work and leisure. You are unpretentious, listen to others, help build team spirit, are generous with feedback, and collaborate with employees and colleagues inside and outside the organization to achieve the best results. About the Workplace The Children and Family Unit, North East, consists of 4 sections focusing on children ages 0-18 and their families. In the employee group, there is also a social secretary who is a senior case handler. The senior case handler's mandate is to support colleagues in complicated cases and participate in the introduction of new employees. The work team includes a mix of experienced and new employees. What they all have in common is a great commitment and passion for social work with a focus on the best interests of the child.
