The Technical Operations Section's area of responsibility includes rule development, licensing, supervision of maintenance organizations (Part-145, Part-CAO, and AUB), airworthiness organizations (Part-CAMO, Part-CAO, and NLO), and aircraft (EASA and national). We contribute to ongoing aviation safety work by: - inspecting organizations in Sweden, within the EU, and certain organizations outside the EU - conducting inspections for EASA of organizations outside the EU - participating in the EASA SAFA program with ramp inspections of aircraft - participating in rule development and standardization within EASA and national regulations - conducting inspections of all types of national manned aircraft - meeting with organizations and aircraft owners in supervisory work - providing guidance to organizations and individuals in Swedish aviation through industry meetings and ongoing dialogue The operations include many interesting challenges involving collaboration with various actors in the aviation sector, both nationally and internationally. The section currently consists of 18 employees. Your Leadership As manager, you are responsible for the Technical Operations Section within your Maritime and Aviation Department, and you actively work with personnel, budget, and workplace environment matters. You lead and create good conditions for employees in their work and represent the employer. As a manager at the Swedish Transport Agency, you actively participate in management group work where you contribute to developing both your own operations and the Swedish Transport Agency in a positive manner within the framework of our mission, with citizens and business in focus. You will - hold operational, personnel, and budget responsibility within your section - plan and monitor the section's budget - ensure that all employees clearly understand their tasks and how each contributes to the section's and unit's results - participate in the unit's management group and contribute to developing the unit so its work tasks can be solved effectively, uniformly, and with legal certainty - plan, monitor, and develop the assignment and work tasks the section has - plan for the section's competency supply, support employees in their work, and conduct systematic workplace environment activities - regularly support and coach employees You Must Have - relevant academic education or other equivalent knowledge/experience that we consider equivalent - experience working as a manager with personnel, workplace environment, budget, and operational responsibility - experience leading development and change initiatives - experience working in civil aviation operations and strong industry knowledge It is Advantageous If You Also Have - experience from a management position in civil maintenance or airworthiness organization - experience from government authority work We Want You To Be - change-oriented and goal- and solution-focused - driven with a holistic perspective - strategic, structured, and analytical in your approach - initiative-taking and enthusiastic - able to make decisions well - attentive, with good communication skills and willing to engage in discussion for the benefit of operations - good at making contacts, creating and maintaining good relationships both within the Swedish Transport Agency and outside the authority - able to create engagement among employees - open-minded, curious, and willing to develop and grow as operations change Great weight is placed on personal suitability. More Information The position is permanent with a four-year management assignment, based in Stockholm (Kista). Appointment according to agreement. We typically use probationary employment. The needs of operations and the nature of work tasks determine whether and to what extent this is possible.
