We are now seeking an engaged and confident section chief who wants to lead and develop our crime prevention work together with employees, in close collaboration with the city's administrations and companies, authorities, and civil society actors. The crime prevention section is part of the security and preparedness unit at the city office and has a city-wide mandate to lead, coordinate, oversee, and follow up on Malmö city's work in the field of security and preparedness. Responsibilities Together with your employees, you lead the development of city-wide work by developing and implementing strategies and methods for crime prevention and safety-building work. You support and strengthen the city's work through internal and external collaboration and ensure that research, statistics, and analyses are applied in the development of the city's work. You represent the city's work in various networks and collaboration forums. Within the area of responsibility is work with welfare crime, ANDTS, violent extremism, and internal control. As section chief, you have three roles: operations manager with responsibility for priorities, follow-up, results, and budget; leader with a coaching approach and present leadership; and employer with personnel and work environment responsibility. You are part of the management within the sustainability department and report to the head of the security and preparedness unit. The unit and section are undergoing a change process that requires leadership based on trust and co-creation while creating structure, direction, and strengthening collaboration with the city's administrations, companies, and external parties. Qualifications We seek a development-oriented leader who can navigate complexity and create conditions for change work. The role requires the ability to direct, drive, and create results, engage and involve employees, and work with continuous development and improvement. You combine strategic thinking with an operational focus. To be considered for the position, we also require: an academic degree or college degree that the employer deems relevant for the position documented management experience, including operations responsibility, personnel responsibility, work environment responsibility, and budget responsibility, or several years of experience leading groups with specialized expertise several years of current experience leading and coordinating safety and security work within or close to the public sector experience with collaboration between different actors familiarity with preparing matters documented experience with process or operations development with good results good ability to communicate in Swedish, both orally and in writing. About the workplace The Sustainability Department at the city office works with the city's strategic efforts in sustainability, including rights issues, local development, preparedness, safety, and security. The department also works with goal management and follow-up as well as statistics and analysis of the city's operations. Within the department, the security and preparedness unit is responsible for developing and following up on the city's work in the areas of security, preparedness, and crime prevention at an overarching level. The unit is responsible, among other things, for overarching work on safety and operational security, leading the city's management of undesired incidents, event security, the on-call officer function, internal control, and the city's insurance protection. The crime prevention section is part of the security and preparedness unit. The city office directs, challenges, and strengthens the development force in the organization, in the city, and in the region. We are the municipal board's administration and work with a holistic perspective close to the city's leadership. The city office consists of seven different departments and has a total of approximately 300 employees. Our departments work within a broad spectrum of areas, and the administration has many employees with high specialized expertise. Malmö city's operations are organized in 14 administrations.
