About the Position As a Section Chief, you will lead operations with 15 employees across 5 locations in the country: Umeå, Borlänge, Kista, Norrköping, and Gothenburg. You have overall responsibility for ensuring the operations achieve their goals, develop, and are conducted efficiently and with legal certainty. The section's mission is broad and includes approving licenses, regulations, and exemptions, as well as conducting oversight within driver testing, professional driver competence, and public transportation. This means we assess whether individuals and organizations have the prerequisites to conduct operations according to applicable requirements and verify that operations comply with regulations. The section is also responsible for record-keeping in this area. An important part of the mission is collaboration. The section has many contact points and cooperates with other authorities, organizations, and industry stakeholders. This includes strengthening regulatory compliance, preventing illegal activities and fraud, and contributing to a safe and quality transport sector. The section's activities consist of: approving licenses, regulations, and exemptions which include driver testing, professional driver competence training, and certain public transportation matters, as well as applications for exemptions from driver education and testing regulations oversight of driver testing and professional driver competence training, public transportation, and passenger rights in bus transport cooperating with driver testing organizations on driver testing issues and industry organizations within traffic and professional driving to strengthen regulatory compliance and quality cooperation with public transportation actors to contribute to well-functioning public transit and strengthen passenger rights cooperating with crime prevention authorities to prevent illegal driver training and fraud in driver testing Your Leadership As a manager, you are responsible for operations within your section and work actively with personnel, budget, and work environment matters. You lead and create good conditions for your employees in their work even when operations are conducted at multiple locations and represent the employer. As a manager at the Transport Agency, you actively participate in management group work where you contribute to developing both your own operations and the Transport Agency in a positive way within the scope of our mission focused on citizens and business. More Information The position is permanent with a managerial appointment for four years, with placement in Borlänge, Gothenburg, Kista, or Umeå. Appointment according to agreement. We typically apply a probationary period. As an employee with us, there is an opportunity to work remotely up to three days per week. The needs of the operations and the nature of the tasks determine whether and to what extent this is possible. Employment with us may involve placement in a security classification. A security vetting with record checking according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted.
