About the Unit
The 161st Air Defense Battalion's main task is to oversee the surveillance of Swedish airspace and air combat command. The battalion is engaged in operational activities daily. Other tasks include operation and protection of fortified command posts, as well as positioning of mobile sensors and radio systems throughout Sweden.
Part of the 161st Air Defense Battalion is the 1610 Command System Support Department. The department operates at five locations and primarily supports the air force's combat command centers and command units.
The Air Section TSOP Uppsala is now seeking a section chief to strengthen our important and competent team. You will work closely with your colleagues in an unpretentious environment with good camaraderie and opportunities for personal development.
Main Responsibilities
As section chief, you lead and distribute work together with the department chief and other section chiefs. You are responsible for employee development through employee meetings, scheduling, and training planning. At the same time, you work with other common tasks for a first-line manager.
Lead, motivate, and develop the section's employees.
Plan, ensure quality, and monitor production within the section.
Implement operational management and ensure that the section's set goals are achieved.
Take responsibility for work environment and safety issues.
Conduct financial monitoring and forecast work.
Cooperate with other units and authorities within total defense.
Participate in recruitment and orientation of new employees.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
Experience leading and developing people – you have current experience in a management or supervisory role where you have had personnel responsibility and were responsible for driving daily operations toward set goals.
Technical understanding and genuine interest in technology – you have experience from a technical environment and are passionate about technology and technological development.
Good communication skills – you communicate clearly and trustworthily, both verbally and in writing, and have good knowledge of both Swedish and English.
Upper secondary education – you have a complete upper secondary education with passing grades.
Category B driver's license

Operational development – experience with operational development and establishment of new operations.

Employment Type Permanent. The Swedish Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those not employed at the agency.
Employment Level Full-time.
Work Location Uppsala. F 16 also has operations at other locations, which may involve occasional business travel.
Working Hours Primarily daytime. Evening and weekend duty may occur during exercise activities.
