About the Operations
Kulturethuset's technical team works in Studio, Little Studio, Lecture Hall, Foyer 3, Klara Biograph, Puppet Theater, and Gallery 3 and Gallery 5. The spaces differ in size, technical specifications, and use. Multiple events can take place simultaneously, and the operations include both in-house programming, guest performances, and rentals.
The Kulturhuset technical team is part of the performance technical unit that staffs operations at Sergels torg and consists of approximately 90 stage technology professionals in stage, lighting, sound, and video. The unit is divided into Main Stage, Klara Stages, Kulturhuset, Profile Stages, and a technical management team.
About the Role
As stage manager, you have personnel responsibility for one technical coordinator and approximately 12–15 technicians. You are part of the group of other stage managers and report to the head of performance technology.
Your assignment is to lead and develop operations, plan staffing and resources, and create good conditions for employees. You are responsible for work environment, safety, and the unit's technical and organizational development. You also have coordinating planning responsibility and continuously monitor the technical investment needs of the operations.
The work is conducted in close collaboration with producers, program operations, artistic teams, external organizers, audience services, security, facilities, and other technical functions. Working hours are primarily during office hours, but evening and weekend work may occur.
Competencies
To succeed in this role, we see that you have:
- documented management experience with responsibility for personnel, work environment, and operations
- several years of experience from professional stage arts, cultural, or event operations
- experience planning and leading technical work in multiple venues or events simultaneously
- relevant education in stage, event, or production technology, or equivalent work experience
- broad understanding of stage, lighting, sound, and video and the ability to assess technical needs, risks, and staffing
- experience with systematic work environment and safety initiatives
- good planning and collaboration skills and a calm and clear approach when conditions change
- good ability to communicate in Swedish and English

Application and Selection Process
This is a permanent full-time position. You will start your employment on January 1, 2027 and will work in parallel with the outgoing manager during January for a good handover. You will take over the position fully on January 31, 2027. Kulturhuset Stadsteatern applies a six-month probationary period.
