Description The City Environment Administration has overall responsibility for the city's public spaces and accessibility. We work to create accessible, attractive, and vibrant urban environments and natural areas. The Administration owns and manages the streetcar network in Gothenburg. Approximately 1,000 people work at the Administration. The City Environment Administration is part of the city development departments within the City of Gothenburg. Would you like to help develop Gothenburg's work on biodiversity and invasive species? We are seeking a coordinator who wants to contribute to creating structure, collaboration, and long-term commitment in the city's work with invasive species. The City of Gothenburg actively works to strengthen biodiversity and develop sustainable and resilient habitats. Invasive species are a growing challenge that affects natural values, ecosystems, and the management of the city's green environments. The Municipal Assembly has therefore instructed the City Environment Board to develop comprehensive governance to monitor and combat invasive species and to collaborate with other boards and companies within the city's network for invasive species. Now we are seeking a coordinator who wants to help develop this work together with us. Responsibilities As a Coordinator for Invasive Species, you will work to develop, coordinate, and support the city's work on monitoring and combating invasive species. The role involves contributing to creating common working methods, structure, and shared understanding in the field, as well as supporting operations with knowledge, analysis, and documentation. You will coordinate work within the City of Gothenburg's network for invasive species and work together with several different administrations and companies. The work includes contributing to inventories, analysis, and follow-up, developing and refining working methods and governing documentation, and monitoring developments in legislation, research, and national approaches. The role involves both strategic and operational tasks and provides an opportunity to help develop how Gothenburg works on biodiversity and ecological sustainability over time. Qualifications We are seeking someone with a university degree in biology, ecology, nature conservation, environmental science, or another degree that the employer considers equivalent. It is an advantage if you have experience working with biodiversity, invasive species, or other nature conservation issues. Experience with coordination, project management, or development work is also an advantage, as is experience from public sector operations. It is beneficial if you have experience with inventories, GIS, or analytical work related to nature and environmental issues. As a person, you: You are structured, analytical, and have the ability to create order and clarity in complex matters. You enjoy collaboration and find it easy to build good relationships with different actors and professionals. You can translate complex knowledge into practical and usable working methods and are confident in driving development work forward. The role requires you to work independently while also appreciating collaboration and shared development. We also believe that you have a genuine interest in ecological sustainability and biodiversity and are motivated by contributing to long-term sustainable habitats in the city.
