We are now looking for a South Sámi-speaking preschool teacher or Sámi-speaking person with other pedagogical experience. Job Responsibilities As a Sámi language resource and preschool staff, you contribute to children's development and learning. You work in a structured manner for a preschool characterized by security, curiosity, enjoyment and joy. In your professional role, you work in accordance with the preschool curriculum (Lpfö 18 rev 2025) and strive to support our Sámi children in teaching the Sámi language and development of a cultural identity. You will be responsible for planning, monitoring and documentation of education and instruction, where language is prioritized. Together with the work team, you are responsible for ensuring that preschool education lays the foundation for all children's understanding of different languages and cultures, including the national minorities' languages and cultures. The task also includes being a good role model for children and colleagues, having a good understanding of all people's equal worth and a trusting approach. The primary placement for the position is at Åsarna Preschool, but also involves work at other preschools in the municipality where guardians have applied for preschool entirely or partially in Sámi. Qualifications We are looking for someone with good knowledge of South Sámi and who is a certified preschool teacher, alternatively a trained childcare worker, or has other post-secondary education with a pedagogical focus. If you additionally have experience in teaching or instruction in South Sámi, this is a merit, as well as knowledge of North Sámi. Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, is a requirement. Previous experience from work in preschool is a merit. Driver's license class B is a requirement. You are used to taking personal responsibility and being attentive to both children and colleagues as well as being a good role model for the children. Collaborating with different people and always having focus on your mission together with the children is a given. Being proactive in work to develop our preschools' education and instruction with a Sámi focus is important. You are creative and want to develop the activities with the child at the center. We Offer We offer our pedagogues targeted development and quality days (four days per academic year), cost-free pedagogical meals and special education guidance. The salary range for this position is between 32,000-35,000 SEK for you as a certified preschool teacher, other relevant education has an entry salary range between 26,000-30,000 SEK depending on educational background and previous relevant work experience.
