We are now seeking a Community Development Director for Lysekil Municipality who wants to lead an operation of great importance for the municipality's future. Lysekil faces exciting opportunities and important development challenges where community building plays a decisive role. We are looking for someone who is engaged and strategic and wants to lead an organization of great significance for the municipality's future. As a manager, you will have a key role in the municipality where community building issues are high on the agenda. About the Position The Community Development Administration has broad responsibility for managing and developing Lysekil as a sustainable, safe, and attractive municipality. Operations include planning and development, building permits and environment, properties, streets and parks, harbors, premises provision, and service operations. The administration has three departments, approximately 10 managers, and around 180 employees. As Community Development Director, you lead the entire administration and drive work in close dialogue with the board, municipal executive committee, and municipal corporation. You are part of the municipality's management group and have a central role in the municipality's development. Your responsibilities include: lead, coordinate, and develop the administration's collective operations ensure quality, efficiency, and legal certainty in both regulatory activities and service drive strategic issues related to societal development, growth, and sustainability manage finances, investments, and overall prioritizations develop the management group, managers, and organization during a period of change foster good collaboration with politics, business, citizens, and regional actors The administration is in an active development and adaptation phase where financial frameworks and external environment create new demands. This means you will have particular focus on: strengthening and quality-assuring the investment process developing a long-term sustainable and efficient premises provision clarifying and strengthening the administration's contribution to the municipality's societal development developing governance, follow-up, and dialogue including with the municipal executive committee Qualifications We are looking for someone who has: a relevant academic education within the community development field multiple years of experience leading complex operations, preferably in the public sector, and is accustomed to working closely with political leadership experience managing managers and driving development work in larger organizations You have broad and strategic understanding of community building and municipal governance. Particularly important are: good knowledge of the entire community development process (planning, development, infrastructure, properties) understanding of financial management, investments, and resource prioritization ability to develop and quality-assure processes (particularly investment and premises provision) good knowledge of the public sector and relevant legislation understanding of how community building contributes to growth, business, and attractive living environments To succeed in this role, we see that you are a confident and clear leader who takes responsibility for the whole and has the ability to create good results within operations, finances, and employee relations. You have a strategic perspective and can analyze complex issues and understand long-term consequences of various decisions. Furthermore, you are development-oriented and enterprising with a strong drive to lead change and development work. You are skilled at building trusting relationships and find it easy to create dialogue and collaboration with both political representatives and external parties. Through a structured working approach and good analytical ability, you create direction, engagement, and conditions for long-term development.
