Sameskolstyrelsen is a state agency with its office in Jåhkåmåhkke, staffed with a school principal, controllers, HR personnel, and case officers. Sameskolan is a school form equivalent to primary school with instruction from preschool class through grade 6. The teaching is based on Sámi culture and the Sámi language according to the curriculum for Sameskolan. Sameskolstyrelsen also operates preschools in agreement with respective municipalities. Sameskolstyrelsen has operations in Giron, Gárasavvon, Váhtjer, Jåhkåmåhkke, and Dearna. Sameskolstyrelsen provides distance education in the Sámi languages and supports the development and production of teaching materials for Sámi instruction. 1 position(s). WORK DUTIES Plan, implement, and evaluate instruction in accordance with the school's governing documents and from a Sámi perspective, both individually and as part of a work team. You actively participate in developing successful learning environments together with others at the school. Together with school staff, participate in other school operations. You will teach in North Sámi. QUALIFICATIONS Teacher's degree with valid teacher certification. You are fluent in North Sámi, both orally and in writing. You have good knowledge of Sámi culture. You have a positive view of people and the ability to build good relationships as well as the ability to prevent and resolve conflicts. You are thorough, flexible, and attentive to students' needs and enjoy working with children and young people. We are looking for someone with documented good collaboration skills.
