The Church of Sweden in Lund is a pastorate with 7 parishes, 1 cathedral, 15 churches including one collaborative church with EFS, 3 chapels, and 2 preschools, burial services, and an administrative office. We also have a Hospital Church, Family Counseling, and a Diaconal Center. Here work over 200 employees and numerous volunteers, including over 130 elected representatives. The Church Council holds overall responsibility and all activities are led by the Dean. Each parish has a Parish Council and a Parish Priest. Here is St Knut, a beautiful church where the Church of Sweden and the mission society EFS at St Knut have been collaborating for 12 years. In our parish, Lund Eastern City Parish, we offer a position with many development opportunities in a pluralistic and multifaceted context. Lund Eastern City Parish We are an exciting blend of urban district church and countryside church in northeastern and eastern Lund. With four churches spanning from the 1200s to the 1990s and rapidly growing areas such as Brunnshög and Råbylund, we are Lund's most populous parish, with great diversity in people, expressions, and needs. We are about 25 full-time staff members, including six priests, and many volunteers. Worship is our center through which everything finds its foundation. In the coming years, we will place special emphasis on our focus areas: Children & Family, Confirmation, and Adult Ministry. The parish is part of Lund's pastorate with 7 parishes, 1 cathedral, 14 churches including one collaborative church with EFS, 3 chapels, and 2 preschools, burial services, and an administrative office. We also have a Hospital Church, Family Counseling, and a Diaconal Center. About the Position The position includes both the collaborative church assignment and serving as a parish priest in the parish. Tasks as a collaborative church priest include working with worship services and church ceremonies and serving as a link between the EFS association and the parish. You will sit on the Collaborative Council and participate in the activities we conduct together in the collaborative church. Tasks as a parish priest include, in addition to worship services and church ceremonies, working with children and families, confirmation and youth, as well as maintaining school contacts. We work in teams with both employees and volunteers. Volunteerism is an important part of our context, which we want to continue to encourage and develop in community. About You We are seeking someone who is a priest in the Church of Sweden, preferably with experience working in a collaborative church and with good knowledge of EFS. You enjoy preaching in a way that provides both breadth and depth, and you are comfortable moving between different church contexts. We would welcome your having good experience working with children, youth, and confirmation candidates. You are driven, outgoing, curious, and socially engaged in professional settings, and you build and maintain contacts and relationships.
