This is a time-limited position with hourly pay. The role involves work as needed, primarily on Thursday evenings and weekends. Start date to be agreed upon as soon as possible. Nationalmuseum is a state agency with approximately 160 employees with a mission to promote art, interest in art, and art history. The museum's collections include paintings, sculptures, drawings, and prints from the 1500s through the turn of the 20th century, while collections of crafts and design, as well as portrait art, extend to the present day. The collections are displayed in the main building on Blasieholmen, Stockholm, and at approximately 20 additional venues including Gripsholms slott, Läckö slott, Nationalmuseum Jamtli in Östersund, and Gustavsbergs Porslinsmuseum. Nationalmuseum also conducts exhibitions, programs, research, and publication activities as well as lending operations. By providing contemporary perspectives on history and historical perspectives on the present day, we create opportunities for in-depth conversations about art and design for all ages. Your main responsibilities Handle public reception and ensure that general visitor areas make a welcoming impression. Facilitate and sell tickets and shop products. Staff the museum's information points including reception in collections and exhibition areas. Serve as a visitor host in connection with programs, exhibitions, and other events. Restock and provide visitor-promoting materials and shop products. Conduct visitor surveys according to provided instructions. Perform certain custodial tasks Qualifications At least two years of experience with similar tasks in the visitor/tourism industry Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, spoken and written Computer skills as a work tool Meritorious Good knowledge of a third language Basic knowledge of art and design We are looking for someone who is engaged and enthusiastic in your work has experience with public-facing work at a varying pace In your role, you are the visitor's first personal contact with Nationalmuseum, and every day you strive to give those you meet a positive experience and service.
