Ref: 20261954 Responsibilities The Employment and Social Affairs Department organizes and operates activities with broad scope and complexity. For example, social services offices, employment services facilities, protected housing, supervised visitation services, and facilities that receive and assess individuals facing significant threats. In total, the department operates activities in over 200 locations, and many of the department's operations have mandates that require high security standards. The security work conducted by the department is therefore crucial to ensure a safe and secure workplace for our employees and for those who visit our facilities. The role's focus is on developing systematic security work, promoting a culture and work approach where security perspectives and strategic risk management are integrated into daily operations. In this role, you provide qualified support to managers and operations within operational and technical security. You represent the department in contacts with property owners, property managers, authorities, contractors, suppliers, and other external stakeholders on security-related matters. An important part of the assignment is being a competent and demanding client. Therefore, you need to be able to identify operational needs, translate them into clear specifications and orders, and follow up to ensure that deliveries and contracts meet operational requirements. You will work closely with the Security and Preparedness Unit, where a security coordinator responsible for strategic matters is located. Both functions are new, and recruitment for these two positions is happening in parallel. Qualifications We are looking for someone with a university degree equivalent to 180 credits in a relevant field or comparable education combined with relevant work experience. You have documented experience working with physical security. You also have experience working operatively with security matters and can independently drive, implement, and follow up on various initiatives and development projects. You have experience collaborating with operations, property organizations, suppliers, and other internal and external partners. You have good knowledge of and/or experience with the following security technical solutions: Locking and access systems Burglary and panic alarms Video surveillance Shatter-resistant protective measures and other physical security measures Security technical systems and their management Guard services and other security-related services Support and coordination of systematic industry safety work It is a merit if you have: experience working in municipal/public administration experience from operations with similar conditions as the Employment and Social Affairs Department, where security matters can be complex and include, for example, threats and violence, undue influence, protection of staff and visitors, and security in operations with extensive external contacts knowledge in related areas such as public procurement regulations, systematic security work, risk management, crisis preparedness and civil defense, fire protection, occupational environment, information security, data protection, law, procurement, and contract management. To succeed in this role, you are structured and have a strong ability to plan, prioritize, and organize your work. You take responsibility for your tasks, work independently toward set goals, and handle deadlines efficiently. You are communicative, pedagogical, and have a natural ability to build trusting relationships. Since the role involves extensive collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders, you need to be responsive, humble, and have well-developed collaboration skills. You actively contribute to existing networks and also build new relationships that strengthen operational work. As a security coordinator, you represent both the City of Malmö and the Employment and Social Affairs Department in various contexts. Therefore, it is important that you are professional, knowledgeable about the external environment, have a genuine interest in societal issues, and a good understanding of different stakeholders' roles and responsibilities in society.
