About the Operation
Hylte Municipality offers important community operations where safety, security, and preparedness are in focus. As a security coordinator, you will be part of the municipality's newly established security unit at the administrative department within the municipal administration. The unit consists of a security manager, an information security coordinator, a safety coordinator, and two security coordinators. Since the safety coordinator will be on extended leave, we are now seeking a security coordinator with a focus on crime prevention work. Part of the position also includes coordinating issues related to security, crisis preparedness, and civil defense. Within the group, everyone has their own areas of responsibility, but works closely together and takes a joint approach to reduce vulnerability and avoid working in silos.
The unit drives strategic, municipality-wide work on security and preparedness and works closely with the municipality's various departments to support them in measures within the areas we are responsible for.
Duties
As a security coordinator, you will coordinate the municipality's crime prevention work in accordance with law (2023:196) in close cooperation with the Police Authority.
The duties include coordinating, supporting, and monitoring crime prevention work, developing situation reports, root cause analyses, and action plans, and planning, implementing, and following up on initiatives. You will lead relevant working groups, inform about the work internally and externally, coordinate efforts against violent extremism, and be responsible for coordinating and reporting damage reports on the municipality's properties.
Together with other colleagues, you will also be responsible for issues related to security, crisis preparedness, civil defense, and information security. The work includes training, development of governing documents and plans, handling referrals, and extensive internal and external cooperation.
The role will develop based on the municipality's needs and your experience, which provides good opportunities to influence both working methods and areas of responsibility.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who wants to contribute to a safer society and has a strong commitment to crime prevention work, security, crisis preparedness, and civil defense. You are structured, analytical, and self-directed, with strong abilities to collaborate, communicate, and guide others. As a person, you are confident, stable, and pedagogical.
The position requires:
Higher education or post-secondary education in, for example, social sciences, crime prevention, security, security protection, or crisis preparedness, or equivalent education and experience.
Strong ability to analyze risks and vulnerabilities and work systematically.
Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
Good collaboration skills and experience working both independently and in a group.
Pedagogical ability and interest in educating and sharing knowledge.
Swedish citizenship.
Meritorious qualifications include experience with coordination within the position's areas or other coordination within municipal operations, and work with information security.
The position is a temporary assignment with good opportunities for extension. Security clearance with register check in accordance with the security protection law will be conducted before employment.
Other Information
Selection and interviews may take place continuously during the application period, so please apply as soon as possible.
We apply a competence-based recruitment process, which among other things means that the application procedure may not be what you are used to. You will therefore answer seven selection questions that replace the personal letter, which you will then attach as your cover letter together with your CV in your application. The selection questions will be your opportunity to describe your competencies, which we will assess your application based on.
Selection Questions:
1. Describe your education/equivalent competencies and how they have prepared you for the role as security coordinator.
2. Describe your experience with security and preparedness issues and/or crime prevention work. What areas have you worked in?
3. Describe a situation where you have worked with planning, coordinating, or developing crisis preparedness or crime prevention work in an organization. What was your role, which actors did you collaborate with, and what was the result?
4. What experience do you have with security protection work according to the security protection law? Provide examples of how you have worked with, for example, security protection analysis, security clearance, or information security in practice.
5. Tell about an occasion when you conducted or contributed to a risk and vulnerability analysis or similar systematic analysis work. How did you proceed and how was the result used?
6. Give an example of when you trained or coached a group, for example a crisis management organization or equivalent. How did you structure it and what did the participants take away from it?
7. Describe a situation where you cooperated with other authorities, municipalities, or external actors on security, preparedness, or crime prevention issues. What was your role and what was required for the cooperation to function?
Of course, you have the opportunity to take mutual references on us and the recruiting manager. Get in touch with KC at 0345-18000 or one of the contact persons and they will help you.
