We are now seeking a Security Manager at the Swedish National Agency for Higher Education (UHR).

The agency is accelerating systematic security work in line with increased security requirements and threat landscapes in society at large. Procedures for reporting and documentation need to be strengthened, and the organization has a growing need for support with risk and security analyses.
What you will do/be responsible for
As Security Manager, you will have overarching coordination responsibility for the agency's total security. You report to the Chief Security Officer and work closely with the Information Security Specialist, IT Security Specialist, and Physical Security Coordinator to ensure that the agency's total security protection is at a satisfactory level. You identify future-proof solutions to the security challenges you help the organization identify. The role also includes coordinating continuity planning and ensuring that crisis management procedures are established. Examples of tasks include:
- Identify and analyze potential security threats and vulnerabilities
- Assess and manage the organization's security risks
- Ensure that security solutions for, among other things, facility security and cybersecurity provide adequate protection
- Develop and update security policies and procedures and ensure compliance
- Train employees and managers on security risks and contribute to increasing security awareness in the agency
- Monitor the external environment in the security field and proactively work to improve the agency's security profile
Other tasks may also occur as it is a relatively small organization where there is sometimes a need to assist in areas of the unit and department that extend beyond the daily role. Furthermore, the organization is in a development phase where there is an opportunity to contribute expertise and experience outside your own team.
You
You have:
- An academic degree or post-secondary education in, for example, security and risk management or relevant work experience that the employer considers equivalent
- At least 5 years of experience leading, driving, and following up security work and risk management
- At least 5 years of experience working independently and in collaboration with others based on applied guidelines and practices
- At least 5 years of experience developing documentation (such as policy documents and guidelines) and making qualified analyses to improve internal governance and control of the organization
- Several years of experience managing security incidents
- Very good ability for practical application of security solutions adapted to the organization
- Good knowledge of laws, regulations, and frameworks for IT and information security such as CIS Controls and ISO 27001
- Good knowledge of and experience in establishing procedures for effective continuity planning
- Experience identifying threat landscapes and making appropriate risk assessments
- Very good ability for proactivity, holistic thinking, flexibility, and collaboration
- Excellent knowledge of Swedish and English, spoken and written
It is meritorious if you have:
- Certifications in the security field (IT, cyber, information, and physical security)
- Experience from the public sector
To function well in the role as Security Manager, you are analytical, structured, and solution-oriented. You are communicative and pedagogical and find it easy to build trust in both technical and business-related environments. We place great importance on personal suitability.
