The Municipal Administration is responsible for support to operations within finance and quality, HR and communications, digitalization and development, legal and quality, security and preparedness, democracy and administration, contact center and events, as well as growth and business. Together we provide support to the municipality's operations, manage strategic assignments, and provide service to our residents. The unit has a strategic and long-term mission to strengthen the municipality's ability to prevent, resist, manage, and recover from crises, societal disruptions, and security threats. The unit's mission is to manage increasing demands within security, civil preparedness, total defense, and security protection. The security situation in the world is changing rapidly, and municipalities' responsibilities within security, preparedness, and total defense are evolving at the same pace. Skara Municipality is now strengthening its efforts through a new unit for security and preparedness and is seeking a security and preparedness coordinator with a focus on security protection. You will have significant influence over how the work develops going forward together with engaged colleagues, the municipality's management, and our cooperation partners. As a security and preparedness coordinator, you have a central role in the municipality's work with crisis preparedness, civil preparedness, civil defense, and security protection. The role involves close cooperation with the municipality's operations, management, and external actors. It may also become relevant to support the municipality's security protection chief on issues related to security protection. You will then be an operational support in developing the municipality's security protection work and contribute to ensuring that legislative requirements are translated into practical and effective working methods. Your main duties Coordinate and develop the municipality's work within civil preparedness Support operations in the work with continuity management and continuity planning. Coordinate planning and implementation of the municipality's investments for increased preparedness Coordinate and further develop the municipality's crisis management organization and preparedness function. Participate in local, regional, and national cooperation forums. Security Protection Participate in work with security protection analyses and risk assessments. Drive processes in operations relating to information security, physical security, and personnel security linked to security protection. Participate in work with security vetting and handling of security protection classified matters. Contribute to monitoring, control, and development of the municipality's security protection measures. Who are you? Qualifications We seek someone who: Has relevant university education in, for example, security, crisis preparedness, civil protection, political science, or other education/experience that the employer deems equivalent. Has experience working within security, crisis preparedness, civil defense, or civil protection. You have good knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations within the field. Has good cooperation skills and experience collaborating with different actors. Expresses yourself well orally and in writing in Swedish. It is advantageous if you have Experience working according to the Security Protection Act, security protection analyses, and security vetting. Previous experience from municipal, regional, or state operations. If you have also worked with total defense issues, civil defense, or heightened preparedness, and have experience in crisis management and exercise activities, that is a plus.
