RZ Pressmetall is a mechanical workshop that is part of the RZ Group. The RZ Group consists of 17 different mechanical workshops with expertise in various competence areas. RZ Pressmetall's operations focus primarily on hot forging of aluminum components and serves as a contract manufacturer for several companies in, among other areas, the defense industry and the broader mechanical engineering industry. Our machinery includes screw and hydraulic presses with pressing forces ranging from 150 to 2500 tons, heat treatment furnaces, a pickling facility, and our own materials laboratory.
The company is in an expansion phase and is therefore seeking an engaged and driven production technician who will be the technical expert in our processes. In this role, you will be a key person in developing and optimizing our manufacturing processes to ensure high quality, efficient production, and a good working environment. You will work closely with production and provide technical support, improvement efforts, quality requirements, and implementation of new solutions in our forging process.
We work with the most common control systems and use CAD for tool design. We use Monitor as our business system. The company is certified according to ISO 9001/14001/45001.
Responsibilities
Optimize and improve processes in hot forging
Monitor and improve quality in the hot forging process
Work with tools (forging tools) – design, improvement, and service life optimization
Participate in the development and adjustment of forging tools
Troubleshoot production problems such as crack formation, material defects, and dimensional deviations
Prepare and update work instructions, develop work methods and process documentation
Work with quality matters and collaborate with quality, maintenance, and production to resolve daily operational issues and ensure that products meet drawings, standards, and customer requirements
Perform and analyze measurements, testing, and inspections
Follow up on and implement corrective and preventive measures
Provide support and technical assistance to production
Personal Qualities
We believe that as a person, you are structured and thorough, analytical and solution-oriented. You are proactive and driven, practically inclined with a strong technical interest and high quality awareness. You should have good communication skills and strong teamwork abilities. You can, based on a drawing, visualize which operational steps are required for the best possible process and have good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
Qualifications
Technical education (e.g., production technology, mechanical engineering, or materials technology)
Solid understanding of materials science and heat treatment
Experience from manufacturing industry, preferably in forging or metal processing
Knowledge of blueprint reading and measurement techniques
Experience with quality work and quality matters, such as being able to prepare 8D reports
Solid understanding of production technology and process development
Experience with improvement work (LEAN or similar) is a merit
Documented education in CAD design using AutoCAD/Inventor or Solidworks is a merit
Previous experience with production management in Monitor will be an advantage.
