The Municipal Administration manages three boards: the Municipal Executive Board, the Building and Environmental Board, and the Infrastructure and Growth Board. The administration employs approximately 135 employees and is divided into the staff area, the building and environment area, and the infrastructure and growth area, which includes the VA department. A day as a pipe fitter at the water department In your role as a pipe fitter, you mainly work with service connections for customer connections, repair of pipes in connection with acute water leaks, investigation and remediation of leaks in the sewer network, and laying of shorter pipe sections. The work also includes water sampling to monitor water quality in connection with repair work, recurring maintenance work such as night flushing of the pipe network, and more. The pipe network team also supports, when needed, the operations technicians regarding measures at water treatment plants and wastewater treatment plants. We are a small organization where everyone needs to help each other and support one another. You work with pipe laying according to AMA and establish and manage shutoffs according to TA plan. You are responsible for ensuring safety, order and organization throughout the entire work process including planning, implementation and follow-up with restoration. You meet our customers daily, the citizens of the municipality, with good service. Safety and work environment are important and you contribute by carefully following work environment regulations, using protective equipment, and reporting and eliminating risks in the operations. As a pipe fitter, you work closely with your colleagues and are responsible for contributing to a good atmosphere and an environment where everyone feels well. Through participation and responsibility, you contribute to the development of the operations. You actively participate in training, seminars and other activities that can develop both you, our department and our facilities. Your skills We are looking for you with a high school diploma and experience as a construction worker/VA pipe fitter and/or other relevant experience from the construction and infrastructure industry. The position requires a Class C driver's license, and if you don't have it, you must be prepared to obtain this qualification. You have good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing. Meritorious: Work on road level 1, 2 and 3A, safe excavation, pipe fitter diploma course, water hygiene course, welding training for PE pipe welding. We will place great emphasis on personal qualities where we particularly value collaboration skills and that you are a service-oriented problem solver. Being able to function in a group as well as work independently is important. Since we work with food products, namely drinking water, high standards are placed on hygiene routines in connection with leak repair, connections and similar work. This requires that you are a person with high responsibility awareness and attention to detail. You find it easy to follow instructions but also have the ability to see solutions to problems that arise. Doing a good job in an efficient way is important to you. Other information The position is permanent at 100%, with employment start date by mutual agreement. We offer wellness hours or wellness allowances and a benefits portal. On-call duty will be included in the position after an introductory period. We apply individual and differentiated salary setting.
