The X-ray Clinic in Linköping is a highly specialized clinic and university hospital unit with rapid development, where we conduct clinical operations, education, development, and research together with the research unit Center for Medical Image Science and Visualization (CMIV).
The clinic has over 200 employees and performs approximately 178,000 examinations annually. Operations are located at University Hospital, which is a center for trauma, neurosurgery, and liver surgery. A significant portion of our operations is emergency care, and our emergency radiology services are located directly adjacent to the emergency department. We also manage regional mammography services.
Region Östergötland and Linköping University are OECI-accredited as a Comprehensive Cancer Center, which involves in-depth work with quality, research, and efficient flows and processes in cancer care. Our operations face exciting challenges with very rapid technological development and increasing demand for our services.

Job Description
As Operations Director for the X-ray Clinic, you have great opportunities to further develop operations that are already at the forefront and where there is a genuine interest in development and research. The clinic is characterized by broad general expertise with great flexibility combined with specialized expertise and high-tech equipment.
Your role involves overall responsibility for operations, including quality, results, and finances, education, research and development, as well as employees and work environment.
You will be supported by dedicated employees, including an Assistant Operations Director, physician leaders, and unit managers.
You lead and organize work in the clinic's management and collaboration groups and create conditions for participants to contribute to the overall operation and development of the clinic. The Operations Director role includes medical leadership responsibility and involves supervisory responsibility for ensuring that subordinate personnel perform their medical duties within the framework of science and proven experience.
Your role includes contributing to active collaboration with the clinic's referrers and other operations within the Diagnostics Center, as well as with Linköping University and CMIV.
You collaborate with representatives of radiology primarily within the Southeastern Healthcare Region, but also nationally and internationally. Together with other operations directors, you participate in the Diagnostics Center's management group and in the management group for imaging and functional medicine operations.
About You
You have a medical education or a university degree in a relevant field. A medical background in the field is meritorious. You are interested in and have solid experience with research-intensive operations, and a doctoral degree is a significant merit. You have experience working in radiology/imaging and functional medicine. Prior documented management and leadership experience is required, as the role demands excellent leadership skills and a high degree of responsibility. Your professional experience as a leader may be gained from healthcare or other sectors. Experience leading managers, change management, and production control is meritorious. The position requires knowledge and skills in strategic leadership at individual, group, and organizational levels. You have strong proficiency in both Swedish and English, spoken and written.
As a person, you have the ability to engage, motivate, and create ownership among your employees. You communicate clearly and ensure that messages reach their audience. You think strategically and see the long-term significance and broader consequences of matters, adapting your actions accordingly. You collaborate well with others, relating to them in a responsive and flexible manner, and demonstrate sound judgment in your statements, actions, and decisions.
