Risk Analyst with Focus on Internal Control, Temporary Position

We are now seeking a risk analyst for the Risk Department with a special focus on internal control, as our colleague is taking parental leave. You will have a central role in the Riksbank's work on internal governance and control and are expected to support the business in how risks can be managed and provide an objective perspective on risks, controls, and improvement areas. The role also offers good insight into the Riksbank's operations with a broad network of contacts. WHAT YOU WILL DO WITH US As a risk analyst, you contribute to the Riksbank's and the Risk Department's continuous development and improvement in risk management and internal control. The overall purpose of the role is to contribute to conscious risk management and ensure that the organization's internal control system is fit for purpose, risk-based, and functions as intended. The role requires a combination of different abilities and characteristics—analytical to see connections and draw conclusions, communicative to explain complex risk issues in a simple way, and high integrity to be able to challenge the business in a factual and objective manner. The role includes responsibility for planning and coordinating the Risk Department's evaluations of internal control and for supporting the business with continuous improvements in ongoing risk management and in self-assessment and reporting in this area. For example, your work may include: supporting the business in ongoing risk management and in their control work analyzing and following up on incidents driving continuous improvements of the control environment through clear governance, information, and training, and proposing improvements together with colleagues in the Risk Department, conducting evaluations, independent assessments, and monitoring of the business's risk management coordinating the Risk Department's reporting on internal governance and control YOUR TEAM Riksbanken consists of nine departments and the Risk Department constitutes the Riksbank's second line of defense. The Risk Department is led by the Chief Risk Officer and consists of an Assistant Department Head (also Head of the Operational Risk Unit), financial and non-financial risk analysts, a Compliance Chief and Compliance Officers, and the Riksbank's Data Protection Officer. You will work in a team with long and substantial experience in risk management and internal governance and control. ABOUT YOU We are looking for someone with relevant academic qualifications for the role and at least five years of experience working with risk management, internal governance and control, or internal audit. Experience with governance issues and active work with risk management and internal control in the public sector is a merit. We are looking for someone with experience in planning and coordinating deliverables related to risk management or internal governance and control. It is also a merit to have good knowledge of the Riksbank's operations and knowledge of the COSO framework for internal control and/or the regulation on internal governance and control. You have good ability to express yourself both orally and in writing in Swedish and English. As a person, you are analytical and drive your tasks forward independently. You are a quality-conscious team player with good pedagogical communication skills, which makes you comfortable in an advisory role where you can translate complex risk issues into business language. Your commitment and proactive approach create trustworthy and good relationships. You also have good judgment and high integrity.
